  Did you really want to live forever?

  even when i was a kid i thought that forever was too long.

  i thought it may get boring.

  especially when they said we'd stop eating meat.

  i was prompted to join this site as i got a knock on the door a couple of days ago.. no, when i went door knocking 20 years ago - although admittedly i was a child - the sales patter went like this.

  ahem... "hello.

  we are speaking to you today to tell you about the watchtower and awake.

  Knock, knock, who's there?!

  hi jwners!.

  i thought is might be the postman but then he usually rings the bell ;).

  then something told me the jws had come round to "serve me" and looking through the opaque glass on the door seemed to confirm this.. two young ladies started to present their pitch, holding out some wt literature which i declined, explaining i already know enough about their religion as i have a friend who is a jw.. having previously vowed not to waste too much time in circular debate i decided to cut to the chase and leave them with something to ponder so i grabbed my computer and asked them to turn in their nwts to john 6. as i was looking it up, i set the scene and told them it was the bit where jesus was saying people needed to eat his flesh and drink his blood.

  My Story - Abbreviated but still way too long

  as i have enjoyed reading everyone elses biogs here i thought it was about time that i put my own down.

  i have thought about why i want to do this and whilst i can pretend it is for the better good and it will act as a warning for others thinking of joining the witnesses, actually i think it is because i think it is just because it makes an interesting story and as will become apparent a good part of my life i had to live a lie and i now find it really liberating just to be really open with everyone.. i also thought about how to write it.

  was tempted to write it to the tune of the fresh prince but thought that might get a bit tough after about verse 38. then wondered whether i should do it in the style of one of those biography pieces in the awake but that would involve reading an awake to mimic the style and just couldnt be bothered.

  when my mum returned after 6 weeks she had also been converted.

  i am sure the twenty years younger and big boobs had nothing whatsoever to do with it and cannot think why he both could think of no other way of leaving and why if it was so bad it was alright to leave his kids in it.

  she beat me so bad i found out afterwards my brothers thought she was going to kill me.

  i must confess to 'lurking' occasionally for several years on this site - purely because i am bone idle and spend most of my day writing with work.

  many of the posts are really funny, moving or both and very well written so thanks to all who contribute.. as can no doubt be seen by my inability to recognise that maybe having your own name as a username may not be the best of ideas (i don't have anything to hide but even so - it does reveal a complete lack of imagination), i have not posted to any forum before as far as i can remember.

  my story is at least as 'entertaining' as some others on here and when i get the time will right it down if only as another warning for all the doubting jws that may read it.

  People Who Refuse to Tip at Restaurants are Embarrassing!

  egg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.

  just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!

  we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.
