Comment made on Freeminds.org: The sad consequence of the flawed "two witness" rule.
by AndersonsInfo inthere are over 120 comments in response to my "discoveries of barbara anderson" article found on freeminds.org, but this particular one posted yesterday really got to me.
any watch tower apologists who might post a response here better choose their words carefully because anybody that tries to defend this insane "two witness" policy has to be insane too.
read on.... sad consequence.

They are so big on claiming thet follow the bible, does the bible not say that we are to leave an inheritance to our children? My dad has told me many times that when he dies that his house and belongings are mine and my sisters, however he is married so I know that she will get it all if she out lives him, which is only right. About five years ago my dad was having major health problems and was in the hospital and one of his fellow elders aproached me out of the blue (while at the hospital) and makes the comment that I don't need to be there as the estate is going to the WT and not me.
I wonder, how would he know this, if it is true?

Not sure if this is funny, but it was cool at the time. I was just starting to aux Piosneer, I was working with this elderette who was very sweet lady in her late 20's. She had a regular study and would take me with her every Tues for about 3 months. Every time we had the study the girl she would only be weareing her underware. (the study not the elderette) We would sit on her couch and the study would sit on the floor it front of us Indian style. She was really cute and had a nice butt-(sorry ladies not meaning to offend)
After about 3 months the elderette told my she was sorry to put me through that and didn't think to take a female with her instead. I said it didn't bother me, to which she was suprized to hear. It turns out that she took her elder husband to have the study and he told the study to put some clothes on, so the girl kicked them out of the house. The elder and his wife said to me that her being in her undies was Satan trying to tempt me, to which I replied, maybe it was just a girl who worked at a club late Monday nights(which she did) and we woke her up at 730 Tuesday mourning.

One Reason Why I Speak About Racism

if anyone cares or dares to read this, this is how it was when i was 13 years of age.. the gap in funding for black and white kids' education is still stunning to me 46 years later, but it's there in black and white.. it's a testament to our determination and fortitude that we acquired an education at all.. this, in the richest country on the planet!.
for your edification and, hopefully, understanding.. syl.

Should Immigrants Be Made To Learn English If They're Living In The USA?
by minimus inwhaddya think?
?.
-
carvin
Yes. I have always believed that all education, legal, and business documents should be in English. The problem arrises due to the fact that the USA does not have an "offical" language. It has been proposed many times but politicians are affraid to push it forward because they might loose a vote. I see that for the most part legal immigrents do learn English, not all but most. It is the illeagal ones that by and large that don't.
That being said, I also believe that everyone should keep and celebrate their heritage and culture, and be proud of it. My wife is from Peru, I have always encouraged my boys to learn about, and be proud of that side of their heritage, as well as learn Spanish. If we would get an official language, some people would be upset at first but it would soon start to help eliminate a lot of racial distrust.

I am always reluctant to comment in discussions on racism as it is awlays emotionally charged. However, I must say that in reading this thread I find it sad that so many on here are very one sided, judgemental and ready to attact anyone we disagree with, I guess the WT taught us all well.
Sylvia - I'm not going to say I understand where you are coming from on this because I can't, as I am not of color. I'm so honkey I'm like Casper the ghost. I don't know what it's like to be treated as many people of color have been, and continue to be treated, because of my skin color. What I will say is I think that all baseless hate is stupid, and skin color is baseless hate. The sad thing I see here is that we have to talk about it at all, I know we do because it does exist. It has existed in the past, it still exists, and will continue to exist for a long time, and that's what really sucks.
If more of us, on both sides of the issue would set asside our eagerness to pounce on the slightest thing someone says that we don't agree with and just listen, maybe progress would be made. Mrs. Jones, Sylvia and others seem to be trying to do that time and time again, even though they get pounced on by some. I won't be altruistic and say I agree with every thing they say but I can't fault them for what they say. I have not lived their life, nor will I ever. Our children learn form us and the world we put them in, so we are in a sad state.
Mr Flipper said it great - I agree- racism should be spoken against in our society. It's an abomination and stain on ALL cultures. The freedoms and basic human rights guaranteed to all that all races should be treated equally and with dignity and respect. Keep on speaking for freedom Sylvia ! Good for you.

What Beliefs/ Practices of Jehovah's Witnesses do you Disagree With Most?

This is a hard question to answer as to pick one thing would be impossable. It is best for me to say i disagree with all their teaching. I know some may say things like their teachings on morality are good, and on the face value I would agree. But lets not forget that their teaching is not so much to be moral for morallitys sake but to make the WT look good. Everything they teach is for their benefit not the individuals.
I hope that makes since

Embryonic Stem Cells & Capital Punishment. What life do YOU value most?
by whereami inwhat's your take on this?.

These are touchy subjects so be ready for answers that you don't agree with and don't take them personally.
I am all for capitol punishment as this is applied to adults who decide that they don't want to abide by societys laws and have therefor caused death to others. I don't think that it should be used for theft of anykind but only if extreem harm is caused to somebody. Personally I would support capitol punishment for child abusers, sorry but that is how I feel.
As for stem cell research, I don't want people getting pregnant just to abort to supply embryos, but I am for research that could possably improve life, just not at the expence of another.

My Latest to the Editor
by AK - Jeff indear editor:.
the letter below is somewhat longer than most you run in your newspaper, i know.
i hope you will run it however, as painting the picture of cults and their insidious control is not something that can be done in a few words.

That was awesome Jeff, thank you. With your permission i to would like to send it to some local papers to see if they will print it. The only other thing I would add, if i can find the correct wording, would be to encourage people to look at the info and apply it to themselves and their religion. And explain that by not applying it to themselves is a product of the I and the T in BITE.

When men were made Elders, did you notice their personality change?
by carvin ini thought about this after reading flippers thread about how elders are appointed.
great thread by the way.. i can recall many times when guys were made elders, and sometimes even made ms that their personility would change almost over night.
i knew many nice, kind, elders and ms but many especially newly appionted ones would be, at times, just difficult to be around.

I thought about this after reading Flippers thread about how Elders are appointed. Great thread by the way.
I can recall many times when guys were made Elders, and sometimes even made MS that their personility would change almost over night. I knew many nice, kind, elders and MS but many especially newly appionted ones would be, at times, just difficult to be around. As one example my dad- I saw him change from a easy going, loving person who would say greetings to total strangers, help out people he didn't know if they needed it. To a person who would refuse to spit on you if you were a non-witness and on fire. About one month after my dad wasmade elder both my B.I.L. and S.I.L. said, in seperate conversations, that my dad had changed to a much more harsh person, and very judge mental.
The story goes much deeper than that but you get the idea. Is this just an off the wall experience or did others see the same things?
Thanks
