in just six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of america will.
If the debt is such a big problem, and the only way to fix it is with higher taxes, then let's just tax everyone at 100% and let the government give us what we need to survive.
If the "rich" are so evil, we can fix that problem as well. We can put a lot of people to work by tearing down houses and building 1000's of identicle ones. That way nobody has a bigger house than anyone else, and it is all "fair". Also we could build and allow only one car model, so again everything is the same. The list goes on and on, but be honest who would want that, other than politicians who would exempt them selves from those rules.
i thought it would be interesting to discuss the things we believed as jw's, but were kind of embarassed about and didn't tell the public about, since it would make us look ridiculous.......... one thing i can think of is the idea that only jw's will make it through armageddon.
everyone else would be destroyed.
i would never tell anyone that even though we all believed it.
The belief that all other religions were worshiping Satan weather they know it of not. I have always said that worship is a deliberate act and you can't do it by accident.
Stepping one foot inside another church building is satan worship. Mom and dads days, bdays are worshiping those people. Voting is worship. They all sound pathetic and I was always trying to hide thes from my friends(the ones I wasn't supposed to have).
I love pointing out to JW's who still talk to me, as we pass by a bunch of young children or even if it is only one child, that it is a shame that they will be rejoicing as they pile up those innocent bodies for the birds to feast on.
so i wrote an email to my brother to tell him that i love him and that it's sad that a religion has come between us.
this is the reply i got:.
stupid and ignorant.
First of all, ditto what bluegill said.
I have found that many JW who "stumble" and then return are some of the most hard a$$ JW's there are. They feel like they have to make up for their past. They also feel like they are better JW's bacause they seem to have overcome greater odds, have seen the real world etc. And I am sure they feel like other JW's are watching them to see if they slip up again, so they go extra hard.
I'm sorry I don't have anything for you to reply with. However thanks to my JW training I used to be a real smart a$$. With that in mind you could say something like - "OK I won't contact you again after this, after all I don't wont to offend your superior Christian values. I have no desire to interfere with your orders from the GB to abandon Jehovah's creation of family bonds, and the love and support system he created for the betterment of his creation. After all a few odl men in New York would naturaly have more insight into how to treat family then Jehovah would. That is why he chose them for their position because they know better."
But it would probably do no good. Wait until he has some large problem in his life and starts needing real help. I mean help beyond - "Do more brother, for Jehovah! Then he will help you"
i have posted about my experience with the cult....so now i find myself in a difficult position.
i have left it alone for many years but i wonder what you guys think.. i faded away from the cult and stopped going for quite a while.
my older sister took it upon herself to meet with my family and discuss all my sins and actions (they were active).
Void Eater is 100% correct. Take it up w/your family, if you think they will listen, or leave it alone.
My wifes brother sleeps around, she and her sisters say they won't be suprised when he "comes home with aids." Her BIL, is a alcoholic, was accused of child molestation, has tried to bed my wife even telling her he wants to rape her. her family and my father still asocciate whit them since they are not DF'ed. Me, I'm not worthy, my sin? I admitted that I talked to my DF'ed best friend at my mothers funeral, and said I was not sorry for doing so. If there is a problem with in the family I am expected to bail them out but then it's back to I'm not worthy.
So it depends on how your family will react to what you say. I wish you all the best!
well were do i start.. this elders wife was after anything with troucers on.
my 2 freinds that were still in were groaped by her and both bedded her aswell!
my brother who is now out and df told me she loved a good roasting.
An elders daughter in my old hall would spend the night at her friends house. Well the friend had twin brothers about a year or two older than the girls. Well she was caught late at night going from one boys room to the other and nailing them both. However as you've already guessed not a word got out and not punishment at all. If that were not enough both sets of parents still allowed the girl to sleep over. Yes it continued, and the recently reinstated father of the twin boys was told he needs to control better what happens in his house. He said no more sleep overs and was told that the kids need good association so he should still allow sleepovers. So when the elders daughter would sleep over the brother would sit in a chair in the hallway between the girls room and the boys two rooms. And he would catch the elders daughter trying to sneak past many times.
This elders daughter was and still is held up as a shining example of how to be a good witness. She has had many assembly parts etc. On a side note her brother went to bethel and was asked to leave within 6 weeks because he kept loosing the keys he was assigned.
how to explain paranormal activities?
(i do know that's a horror movie title).
some of my friends have experienced "strange" things lately and many people does, so there has to be something, i think?.
I believe in them totally. I've seen them. Well i have seen some things that I guess it is just easier to call them ghosts. Never anything like the scarry movies, just strange sightings and feelings of someone/something there. I don't talk about it much as even my friends and family think i'm looney tunse- which I very well may be.
I have, on several occations, been walking in the woods or on a street and had conversations with someone I've passed, and when they say something "profound/strange" I've looked at them and they were not there. I know I'm nuts.
There have been other things too, but there you go.

i remember vaguely hearing about this bill, but i forgot about it.
apparently it passed, and a couple hip hop forums i've frequented in times past already got raided due to illegal file sharing.
I do find it interesting that the WT says there book/mags etc are free and that the distribution of them counts as charitable works. So if other sites distribute them for free, as their slaves do, why would it matter to them. They are reaching a much wider audience. Also if their message is so irrefutable would it not cause a large influx of converts to their org? - Yes, I'm being sarcastic
it seems that the wt may be moving more and more to being online than printed(i know still years away).
but it occurred to me that if they get to sey 51% of material being recieved online then they can make changes in the books/articles and fewer people will notice.
this could prove to be a plus for them.. any thoughts?.

it's becoming clearer and clearer that i need to muster some sort of strategy for countering the mr's indoctrination of the kids.
now some of these kids are stepkids, so that makes it a bit hairier.
but for our youngest, i will need to think about how to teach her other things too.
This may seen a bit harsh, and it would depend upon your childs ability to reason but you could try it. Drive by a playground and watch the children play, especilly young ones. Ask you child if she thinks they should die, because their parents aren't JW's. After the answer then ask if she is going to rejoice and celebrate when god kills them. Or does she think god is better than that, and will end up judging people by who they are and not be what church they go to. It will probably not make a deep impact but it will get her attention, and when they have it in another article, even glossed over the way they do, she will remember it.
