In many countries there were WT owned missionary homes, often besides the offical branch office. These are being done away with as housing for missionaries. Missionary status is dying off. No more Gilead School. Couples and single brothers will be approved, schooled and sent out by each country, except where special need. WT provided housing for such ones is not available. An end of an era that has spanned 70 years.

They will receive an allowance. But, no more official missionary homes anywhere. They want missionaries to be on their own without the buildings. This means no more group housings with official cooking / cleaning days, expense accounts to go over with the home branch / zone servants. You are now going to fit in with the locals and not be on WT land. Pushed to the curb and looking for a place to live with locals, on their own or with outside funds from home.
Not sure about translation teams and their being able to stay in old missionary homes / rooms. Will check sources for that info.

All housing to be done by locals. Health care coverage and small monthly $ provided by hqts.
So, now local pubs / congs have to help out retired COs, special pios, as well as care for local cong expenses, KH loan, etc. Oftentimes, wealthier congs are shamed by the branch or CO to "provide" this assistance. Also, brothers who has a business are almost expected to give jobs to former Bethelites (asked to leave to assist congs) MTS students, Chistian couple students and others.
ALL $ is being provided by locals. Give, give and give - more, more , more and don't forget given your expertise at the new Warwick project. Oh, not skilled - just give us your money. We have ATM / debit account info ready for you online or at your gathering place. Fleece the flock of lambs and sheep.

Many of the "new" teachings in the 7/15 tower are just that - adjustments to what mainstream religions believe. The rapture prior to the big A. Seperating of sheep and goats at a later time period. Christ coming in power with signs - time period adjustments.
Mnay bible scholars (ex: Matthew Henry and others) wrote exact wording used in that study article - his statements were written in 1706! Many of Russells beliefs and Rutherfords commendation against the Catholic Church were also exact statements from others also.

no more memorial or lord's evening meal mentioned.. only an invitation to "the anniversary of jesus' death".
so, my question - who has caught this phrase and what does it mean?.

My opinion - they don't show the bread & wine on the invite. They want it to seem a little more mainstream. Or, maybe a way to spin another angle on the invite - as if it is a "new" event.
By the way, it doesn't fold in half this year to look like a real offical invitation.
If they really wanted more attendence here is what you do:
1. Use TV spots / Radio spots / Internet media & ads , direct mailing (non-profit rates apply for all of these).
2. Use billboards.
3. Use large event centers with a free meal beforehand.
Oh well, I have given away all my secrets for success.

Heritage was the name of the 30 min film in the 60s. U.S Glass was the narrator. Acted by Bethelites and local NYC bros / sisters. I remember with horror the beer bottles breaking and they were drinking out of broken glass! Many of the actors fell out of the truth and sadly the film went the way of the dinosaur. No reissue of it or the other films of the 60s. I have seen clips on YouTube.
Public service tv spots were used a couple of years ago (free). They looked just like the Mormons. We are JWs! We are normal, your neighbors, etc.
TV is the Devil's eyeball and can't be trusted. Fear and being cheap, these are the reasons it isn't being used. The Judge would roll over many times in his grave. If he was here today, he would be the most recognized television pastor / preacher, yelling about the Catholics, Nazis - all ENEMIES!

The weak attempt in the new January public Watchtower about setting a wrong date still did not say WHO said it. If it would have said the publishers of the magazine, writers of the magazines, leaders, governing body or something to that effect, it would be most welcome. Howerver, the blame goes to a nameless "some" or "collective we". Justification to say - "we are on the watch" is shifting attention, as well. Never will it be acknowledged who did the main heralding of the dates. But, WE all know it came from the top (Franz, other wt / awake writers, COs, DOs). There is so much evidence to support this.

Why are the Jehovah's Witnesses not allowed to carry a weapon (for protection) during field service?

it seems jesus did not mind that peter carried a sword if we read luke 22:36-38. is it another case of picking and choosing what works for their man-made doctrine?.

Knew a nutcase brother who use to carry a big hunting knife under his drivers seat. He said he was terrified to go door to door - never knew what was behind the door. Yet, he loved doing the prison work - sid he could see them and was ready in case anything happened.
