IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AUSTRALIANS

we've been advised by australia's major network, channel nine, that their investigative programme entitled "silent witnesses" will go to air this sunday, september 22nd.

it'll be on the 'sunday' program much like dateline and panorama and will screen from 9 am to 11 am.the story itself will be around 40 to 45 minutes in length.

depending on the response from this story, they may decide to run the panorama story with a follow up on the aussie story the following weekend.

Similar religions to JW

ok everyone....i have noticed that there are a few other religions out there similar to the jw's.....for example...i have a friend who has a sister that who belongs to a non-denominational christian church.....she feels that her church is the "only way" to god...and also too it seems as though she looks down on anyone who does not go to her church....they have weekly bible studies on monday or tuesday nights...they even have a "field service" in which they go out to neighbors trying to get them to come to that particular church....does anyone else out there know about the other ones similar to the jw?

Paradise on earth

Non-Trinity

Non-Hellfire

non-Immortal soul

refuse miltary services (they even better than JWs, JWs pray for one side in WW1, they didn't. Have a look in Proclaim-book page 191; or clearer in JWs in the Divine Purpose(1955) page 92)

...Just a few, more similiar points can not mention all

OR United Universalism

OR Seventh Day Adventist (but believe in Trinity/ all other beliefs almost same, even Daniel's prophecies about 7 times, world kingdoms...)

The WacoTower and Dark Society doesn't care how many died, how many in jails or how many suffered because according to her, it's God's fault. You don't believe it ? Open the Watchtower August 15, 1998 again , what can you look in the picture's caption on page 16 ? Even if you lost your relatives, God never forget them. It's God, not WacoTower made them died.

How to help a friend?

well after over 100 posts this is my first thread.

but i thought that this subject was important enough to start a topic and i hope some of you will be able to give me some good advice.. to set the scene: a very close friend of mine is a nurse training to be an anaesthetist.

he recently had a jw call on him and he'd invited him in and they'd discussed the blood issue.

First of all, you praise him about his behaviour when he consider about blood issue. Tell him you admire him eventhough he is a nurse, ever believed (and maybe still believe in) blood transfusion will help in critical occasions (Intensive care), but he also consider other side of the matter by asking JWs' viewpoint about blood transfusion.

Then, now he may consider about religion (JWs), you wish him also has a moderately behav', mean he should know opinion from another side too. You give him the book "Crisis of Conscience" by Raymond Franz (amazon.com has it).

You want it or not, if he turns into a JW, your lukewarm situation will be reported (for he already know you ever been involved w/ JWs and now fade away). If you tell him about Watchtower is a cult and he agree, you have your friend back, if he refuse your advice, it's up to him. Even you keep silent, not telling him JWs is a cult, he still report you anyhow. That's my (humble?)opinion

I heard from friends that at "down under", Mr (or Mrs) Aqualina (?), Minister of Trading (or something like that) just announced on Thursday that every vendor "go house to house" (exactly, accurately in his or her words) will be fined at least AUD2000. Anybody out there can confirm this information ? Ozzipost or someone else can you tell us more about this ?

reinhardt is mentioned in ray's cof c book.

he was on the writing committee and was forced from brooklyn bethel in the early 80's (along with ray and mr dunlap).

i understand he may now live in the seattle area and has left the wts.

Thank you Mulan. Thank you to Mr Reinhardt Langtaght in advance too. I couldn't remember in which Chapter of the book "Is This Life All there Is?" the changes occur, but I did report to my supervisor that time (1974-I tear off two pages from two books and send to him) and he told me keep silent. Then as a "faithful brother" that time, I forget everything about differences. It's only brought up to my mind again when I read CoC of Ray Franz about the changings in Commentary of James-book.
