our dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife,zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type,not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.

anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks,alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!

they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session,way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.

In theory this is not allowed and I've never seen this kind of thing during the day, but hey, having to attend DCs these days is enough to drive almost anyone to drink.

my hdtv sits just feet behind the wall that houses my computer.

i have a g-router for my laptops in the house.. i thought of running hdmi interface to my tv, but alas no hdmi outport on my computer.

i used to use a laptop with vga, so considered doing the same with my desktop, but alas no vga port on my desktop computer.

I decided not to go back to the KH

well, as i mentioned before in one of my few other posts, i've been lurking here for some time now and finally decided it was time to face the facts and take action.. i was raised a jw (4th generation) and my parents were quite zealous when they got married.

mom was a regular pioneer and dad was a ms. i was the little jw 'rockstar' in my congregation, got baptized at 10, was giving talks and serving as an attendant at the hall and at conventions at such an early age.

auxiliary pioneered whenever i could.

It's a good thing that you decided to never return the day you left. I only quit meetings because of a fateful argument with my mom (which was the last straw). I was thinking of perhaps returning one day for quite some time afterwards but could never muster the motivation to go back. It was only when I signed up here that I finally decided that it was all bullshit and not worth going back to. Never again. For all the faders out there who are still attending with the hopes of one day dropping it cold turkey, your time will come soon enough. Good luck...
