Elder got df'ed

he had relationship with a female jw of the same congo.now that they are both df'ed they are gonna get married and then get reinstated.his ex-wife will have to see the new happy family 2 times every week at the meetings.sweet.

I've seen a lot of divorces but here's a story that puts the cherry on the top:

An elder and his family moved to my cong and they seemed to be the ideal. Him and the wife had 6 kids and he was as super-nice, humble and "christ-like" as I've ever seen. I really liked the guy and his kids, the wife was a bit shy. He owned a window washing company. LOL

Cracks slowly started to appear. There seemed to be financial troubles; I heard something about a previous failed business. They had to move out of the nice house that they bought in our area after about a year and thus they moved out of our KH. When I saw them last, it was at a football party they had at their house. I sensed things were a bit "off". I later started hearing that there were some serious problems with the reationship and it got so bad that the wife started sleeping in the basement instead of his bed. I also heard he was no longer an elder, dunno whether he resigned or was "deleted".

The kicker: Months later I heard rumors that things weren't going so well for my cong's PO. I knew the PO and his wife from way back. He was a self righteous prick who was always "zealous in the Truth". He and the wife eventually became full time pioneers with the requisite parts time jobs. Unbeknownst to me and everyone else, their marriage was troubled too. The wife started having an affair with the previously mentioned "family man". -Isn't that great? *sarcasm*- I don't need to go into the subsequent divorces, DF's and devastation. The PO's wife and the so-called family man got married some time later. The congs, of course, were devastated and I really feel bad for the family man's ex-wife and kids. The now ex-PO suffered the expected humiliation, emotional devastation and shortly after was deleted as an elder himself. I haven't heard about what's happened since then and I don't give a shit.

How's that for a nice bedtime story?

what's a good way to stop?

i have managed to cut down to less than 10 a day, but have got to stop period.

This topic reminds me of the story my dad told me about why he quit. (I do love stories!)

My dad was an automotive mechanic and every once in a while he'd have to head out of town for a couple of days or so for a technical upgrading/refresher course for dealership technicians. One day after work he was driving up to the out of town class after work and he was lighting a ciggy while driving. In the middle of sparking up, he dropped the lighter on the floor and the cig in his lap. He so was frantic to get the lit cigarette out of his lap that he drove into a ditch. Luckily dad didn't wreck the car or himself. It occured to him right then and there that smoking was going to kill him one way or another, so he quit cold turkey that night. He really needed some kind of oral fixation afterward, so he would buy entire cartons of chicklets gum.

Take the story for what you will. LOL

Holy crap! You mean I'm not the only one here who's never been in love? You mean that miseryloveselders and snowbird are in the same boat as me? Wow. How did life end up passing you guys by? I've already explained myself. Any one else? Queue up "Eleanor Rigby".

Sure, I had about three really bad crushes that threw me for a loop, but if anyone would think that any of it was love, they'd be sorely mistaken. Left me miserable and humiliated every time. "Unrequited love" is a hell of a misnomer. It isn't love if it isn't reciprocated. Even I have known that all along. Everyone should know that and I pity those that don't.

You're in B.C. too? Huzzah! I live in the interior myself but I don't mind a half a day's drive somewhere. I'd like to have something happen in my neck of the woods. I've run a search of the website here and I didn't find any record of anything happening in B.C. ever. Any other B.C.ers here? Let's start something!

Question on Case of Disfellowshipped then Committed Suicide

there was an occurrence years ago where a jw wrongdoer was disfellowshipped.

in a matter of days this poor victim committed suicide.. would there be any kind of accountability for the victim's suicide death?.

how frequent do these cases happen?.

I can't really say much since I've never seen it myself but I believe it. I know enough about almost losing the will to live because of the WTS. It really does push people over the edge. Curses on the GB and incompetent elders.

EDIT: I remember my only friend left on the inside telling me that he's had two or three of his other friends off themselves. I have no knowledge of whether any DF or other "discipline" was involved.

I'm new here too. I'm glad you had the courage to come here and tell us about yourself. What little you have told us already breaks my heart. I'm looking forward to hearing you story when you are ready to post it here.

You really do sound like a tormented soul. I know what it's like to be in the bowels of this hell called depression, when it hurts so bad inside that you don't want to live anymore. It hurts to know that the love and acceptance the organization promises you is nothing more than a fraud. It isn't just a problem with one congregation or a smal group of them. The whole thing is rotten to the core.

Don't worry too much about your spelling and grammar. I've seen far worse among native speakers of english, on many websites. Also, my mother is foreign born too. I know her problems with the english language. You'll most likely learn english much better than even she did. In fact, you already have.

Again, I bid you welcome. Please don't stop fighting for your freedom.

Most hated Rules and Regulations

the thread about "clinking" got me to thinking.. what were the rules you hated most?

rules that were just so boneheaded as to be infuriating.. there are so many rules and regulations to follow as a dub.

some rules may not even be able to be referenced in the publications, at least not firmly and clearly.

Okay, I'll bite:

First of all, my take on the two door car issue: It isn't so much of a rule as merely a stigma. That if you dare to be unkind to your brothers and sisters by making them strain to get in and out of your back seat, you are selfish and very un-spiritual. Man, some people sure looked down their noses at me for that! (I still miss my Mustang. The motor blew and I couldn't keep it. )

Other stuff I hate:

The clinking drinking glasses thing is utterly asinine. Just grinds on my nerves thinking about it...

No beards? Stupid. I could never wear one anyway 'cuz it's so tight and curly it would look like a beaver pelt glued to my face.

No tatoos? If your tats hide under clothing, whats the big deal? Don't have any yet but I'm considering it.

Rules about what goes on in the bedroom? Oh gawd! What is it with elders thinking they have a say in that?

Demonization of Smurfs. LOL

Anything to do with Field Service, period! I hate it when any kind of salesman knocks on my door. Trying to sell me on a religion is even worse. I sure feel like an ass for pissing off peolpe with JW Saturday morning antics. Thinking about the golden rule here.

I'll throw my hat in the ring, beeing a n00b here.

I'm most definitely single, never married, never attached but my life is upside down.

A small handful of things have messed me up through life, though substance abuse and other really terrible things aren't on that list. I've probably spent a greater percentage of my life being love-lorn than most of you combined. I'm absolutely not a kid out of school. I've lived life (alone). I've seen so many things go wrong with the relationships of my peer group around me and I hope I've learned a few things. I like to believe that I have leanings toward the romantic side of things, more than most guys. (That's never been put to the test.) I'm a deep thinker and even though I'm not particularly educated, life is my school. I'd like more than ever to meet "that special someone" but I should know better than to try right now. If, by happenstance, I cross paths someone who's willing to give me a chance, it'll be hard for me to say no.

Just MY musings.
