Welcome!
I know what it's like to have a so-called unbeliever for a father and to have others crap on my family for it. I stopped attending when I was 17 and got sucked into baptism ten years later. Lucky that you didn't. I'm mortified to hear that someone abused your child. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's even worse when family members side with the enemy.
You'll find lots of ears to hear and maybe there's even a shoulder for you to cry on too.
We're here for you,

Where does Absinthe place on the chart? I admit I often gravitate toward almost anything that's weird.
Otherwise I do enjoy a good Bourbon straight up.

Okay, Someone "Enlighten" Me, Please...
by AGuest inand may you all have peace!.
i would like to understand, please, if someone cal help me:.
if, when you come out of "her," the most glaring and obvious of things that with you is anger, hatred, intolerance, irritability, deceit, loose conduct (and i mean the really loose, not just the typical) and things like these... such that when you communicate with others, including but not necessarily those still in "her"... these things a manifest... are you proving "her" right... that life is "better" on the inside, at least as far as "they" can "see" it?.

Shelby might be a bit weird but Alice is downright psychotic. She must have whacked her head really hard when she hit the bottom of the rabbit hole. Does that mean that Alice was dropped on her head? Hahaha! I kill me! Am I being too mean? I'm sorry, hahaha, she makes it too easy!

Shelby,
Are you implying that those who exit the borg and completely discard all belief in god and christ are somehow doomed to bitterness and anger? Thus making it appear to the borg that they were right? That one can only be happy and fulfilled only with a belief in christ as one and only savior kinda acceptance hooey? Please enlighten ME. Just wondering.
Myself I've only made a recent exit and I'm almost totally lost as to what to believe about God or the bible or holy books in general as of YET. I don't know how to be happy YET or how to rid myself of the pain and bitterness YET. I'm workin' on it. Oooookaaaayyyyy?
Your dearest dark lord,

PS: Is it just me or is Shelby seriously weird?

Welcome junior.
Too bad you didn't figure it out 'till after you got baptized. I stopped attending when I was 17 simply because I just didn't want to be there. I stayed out for about ten years, then I got sucked back in! AAAAAAAAACCCCKKK!
My advice: Once you leave it behind, stay away for good, don't come back; going to college will go a long way toward that objective. Move out as soon as you can after high school grad; don't stay at home. Make lots of outside friends. NEVER say anything negative about the leadership of your congregation or the WTS to other borg; it will make you a target. Remember that all the borg are potential spies and rats; you never know when one of them will try to stick a knife in you. NEVER confess anything to the elders. And despite what the rumors say, you CAN trust a vamipire. (Tee Hee!)
Take care and watch your back. We'll be here for you.

Excellent YouTube video for those raised in JW home (or any dogmatic faith)
by SweetBabyCheezits inthere are some really intelligent videos from users, qualiasoup, and his brother, theramintrees, on youtube.
this one tells an analogous story that deals with being raised in a religiously dogmatic household..... http://www.youtube.com/user/theramintrees#p/u/0/kaiprrzvnjg.

I admit that I do love a good story. Then again this seems a bit like gossip which I hate anymore. What the hay; if it's for instructional purposes... I'd like to know what EXACTLY goes on during these meetings.

True Story - spirit directed appointments?
by xelder innames of course have been changed.. ann was 17 and was a baptized jw.
her homelife with witness parents was not the best.
her mom, who was raised in the truth had a learning disorder and did her best as a mom, but fell short in many ways.

Bwahahahahahahaha! Spirit directed, my ass! They're incompetent boobs, the whole lot of them. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. So much like keystone cops.

Well, congratulations I guess... At least you have them out of your hair.
If it were me I'd be pretty pissed at not exiting on my own terms. I want to control the game, not play by their rules. Then again it's not entirely my decision if I ever get ratted out or not. Damn spies are everywhere!
