  Yes, that is our current understanding of the laws of physics ATM. That doesn't mean that there aren't as yet undiscovered loopholes. As MS just eloquently stated, relativity isn't the be-all\end-all of physics research and it might be possible for the light barrier to be circumvented. Have you ever followed any of the more current Star Trek series' at all? They at least give us a clue about what MIGHT be possible...

  IF, on the other hand, we are alone in the universe, our 'dark side' might not be serving us so well. It makes us too selfish, greedy and destructive for the good of the planet. Our relative success as a species is making us utterly overwhelm the earth and it's resources with our out of control population growth...

  Wow! That's really fascinating.

  The way Bonobo society works seems to be an ideal BUT I wonder how successful the Human species would be if we didn't have this so-called 'dark side'. IF there are other intelligent species in other parts of the universe who are aggressive and war-like, I doubt we'd fare well against them if we were too much like the Bonobos.

  I guess we have to take the bad with the good... *sigh*

  a jw came in as i started my shift today and said that he tried to contact me before but i wasn't there.. i'm deaf and the brother was from an asl congregation.. i used to do calls like that but didn't realize how irritating and upsetting it could be for the employee/householder.

  i told him that i used to be a jw but quit.. he asked me if i was under discipline or df'd or something..

  I absolutely agree with you, Sphere. Most JWs indeed have no clue what boundaries are. Sadly, many who exit the BOrg continue to be clueless as to what boundaries are.

  For anyone who has no clue what boundaries are really about, I highly recommend this book (if you're not downright offended by anything to do with the Bible or a x-ian POV):
