I'm glad that nothing like that happened to my sister. (She was/is the incurable goody two shoes anyway.) I was already out for two years when her's was held. If someone tried pulling that shit on my sister, that someone would've died!

i have a jw nephew in another state who was at very the top of his high school senior class this year.
because of this, my sister (an elder's wife) had planned and sent out invitations to his "graduation party" which would be held at a community center with all the bells and whistles.
i actually bought plane tickets for my wife and i to attend this party immediately after receiving the invitation in the mail.

all of us who have any ties to the jws know that they have their own vernacular, their own slang.
sure, there are formal titles that we can't really get away from: pioneer, ministerial servant, elder, ______ overseer, governing body, the (watchtower) society, etc.
but there are plenty of other bits of parlance they use that i can do without.... for example:.
I remember the entire Wholehearted/Hole-hearted speech repeated over and over by various COs and Elders over the years. It still makes me retch...
Wholehearted = Thoroughly brainwashed

Alas no-one can control what gets posted on any given thread (except for Simon and the mods)...
Carry on folks...

@Zid:
Yes, I agree, irreverence has it's place. Sometimes it can be a bit much, though. I'm just trying to distinguish this thread somewhat from similar ones that have been posted before.
I do see sincerity in a lot of what you write here and I respect and admire you very much. There are also others who have posted her that I respect and admire too. I suppose that I do have this, darker, grumpier side that will always be a part of me. (Hence my 'Vampire' moniker...)
Peace and blessings to you my dear...

i'm in love with a girl that is not so active in the witnesse and since i moved to germany she is in vancouver, we only talk though facebook.
i don't know to break the ice to her that i'm no longer a jw, i really do love her and her personailty and etc.
i don't know what to do i send her a post card and told her anytimes she is in europe to tell me i will fly out to everwhere she is to meet up.
@Snowboarder:
Yes, I'll agree that it's a really cool thing to be smitten with someone... as long as she feels the same way. If she doesn't, dude, you already have a problem. But we're already putting the cart before the horse here.
Is this young lady ready to leave the JWs? Think hard on this one. If her heart is even halfway in it, you have an even bigger problem. It's unwise for anyone to date an XJW who really isn't an XJW in their mind and heart, even if you're an XJW yourself and you understand 'where she's coming from'. If someone hasn't committed themselves to leaving the WTS, a relationship with them could easily explode in your face. As Chris has already stated, a person who's heart is with the JWs is damaged goods.
Tread carefully my young friend...

i mean, seriously, interrupting people at their place of business, no matter how brief their presentation is, just seems tacky and intrusive, even more so than the door to door work.
it's like they're going out of their way to annoy people.
isn't one of the benefits of having to go to work that you aren't at home when jws call on you?
I think ALL kinds of FS are tacky.
But I agree, bothering people at their workplace is especially bad. I consider so-called "informal witnessing" to be just as despicable. I don't want to be bothered by these kind of nutcases while I'm shopping or waiting at a bus stop either. I'm glad that I never did either...

ok, quick run down of my situation.. .
1. i am not religious.
my now-fiance was raised jw but left the religion about 10 years ago.. 2. we started dating last march, i got pregnant within two weeks.
I really can't add much more to what others have already said here. I really must say DON'T DO IT!. It really is too bad that there's already a child involved in this BUT it would be very unwise of you to marry this fella just for that. It's very unwise to date any ex-JW who hasn't made the firm commitment to leave the JWs and their religion behind once and for all. If his heart and mind are still in it, you're hooped.
There are countless marriages that have gone to the dogs because of this issue but here is a very recent example:

Please read her posts. This lady tried really hard to make the relationship work, but in the end it all went to pot. The guy was just far too much into it. It's hard for me not to see your relationship going the exact same way. Of course it's your life and your decision but we hope you'll listen and save yourself a lot of heartache in the end. Good luck...

.
...that if i'm interested in someone, i read through their posting history to see what kind of people they are.. .
there.
Poor BP... It is NOT Iamallcool, of course ('cuz he's anything BUT cool). I have it on good authority that the ladies here, for the most part, do not like and do not respond to his rather pathetic overtures.
A guy just has to be himself, be here lots, respect the ladies for who/what they are, make a name for himself to that effect and the ladies come-a-flocking. This I do know...

it didn't take long.
about a month ago i had to leave this forum because i was approaching financial ruin, not just because of the time i spent on this forum, but i had to start chucking things out of the helicopter if you catch my drift.. about a week after i quit an old boss contacted me on facebook.
a huge web development customer contacted him about a huge project they are working on and have the funding for.
Glad that you're back on the scene, Sab. See ya around...
