it's a convention, for some reason you are now up on stage with the mic, the auditorium falls silent awaiting your inspirational thoughts, no one knows you no longer believe, amidst the crowd are many close friends and direct family.
you will never, ever get another chance like this, this is a life changing opportunity.
you will have maybe 10 seconds before they cut the mike.
at Tired of the Hypocrisy but that would be brill!
I would say perhaps:
Brothers and sisters, its funny how we ask people on the ministry to investigate the history of thier own religion. but let's take a moment and investigate our own history beginning with russell and rutherford.
also wouldn't itbe hilairous if we witnesses were the apostates mentioned in Acts 20. because the Governing body have so deviated from the truth they are wolves in armani suits!
also please see jwfacts.com and jehovahs-witnesses.net
*que to shephering crook violently grabbing me round the neck and my being slapped out on the dirt while all the lovely brothers express hatred for me. Ooh, i'd pay money to see one of the COs face in particular! ooh ar! i think i could get all that out in 10 mins!

as a quick background, only my mother and my mil are jw's.
my wife and i are inactive, but not df'd or da'd.
my mil (who has been great to us and treats us normally) has recently told me that "jws don't shun".
Robert7, she has not a leg to stand on. you're not DFd or DAd so as your statsu is one of inactivity, she should ( from a JW point of view) be encouraging to you and being kind to you. "heaping fiery coals on your head" wiht a view to changing you but nope. she decided for herself that you are as good as DF'd etc and that my friend is judging. she has ni right to do that.
ask your mother why her friend did that. ask her to explain how on earth that is christian or the right thing to do.
shunnig has no scriptural basis and her attitude was way off. your wife must have been annoyed too! honestly, the self righteousness at times is unbelievable!

it wasn't a feeling of rebellion; it was the feeling of love and care i desired.
Timmy, you simply have to be commeneded. you have greatly encouraged me as i am in the psotion you once were in.
as Irondork says, " educate yourself about what those scriptures posted above REALLY mean and in which context they should be understood"
when one gets down to the nitty gritty of the hebrew and the greek, there is actually no justiifcaiton for the translation fo these texts the way they have been translated. please invetigate these. i even worte my undergrad thesis on biblical translation of these points.anywho there are some really good publicaitons out there on this.
Look to John Boswell's "Christianity, Social Tolerance and Homosexuality. Uni of Chicage Press, 1980, i think.
its a good read!

this study edition is an absolute attack on kids going to higher education, and you all are getting too cosy at home with your sky tv and the internet, get out on the doors you idle dogs.. oh and if you have a good job already you could not be putting the kingdum first !.
here is some of the crap in the mag, and the article temporary residents in a wicked world.. 10. .
in view of the imminent end of the present system of things, as jehovahs servants.
Vigilant Christians refrain from using
the world to the full with regard to higher
education.
Disgraceful- so one questiosn i would love to ask - does that mean that any christian that does pursue a college education is then not vigilant and then a "virgin" that does not have enough oil? ie a follish one!! AGGGHH

hey there....i've been noticing that there are quite a few support groups in other countries for those who leave the 'truth'.
i am appealing to those who are in the emerald isle to see if there is any chance we can get together and enjoy 'real' association, being of same minds etc.
anyway... i will put this out there and hopefully those in ireland will get in touch and we can support each other!
hi all.
i am in ireland too!!! i think us irish are few and far between on these boards!
our ex-catholic mentality keeps irish witnesses from seeing the truth about the truth! :-)

i am wondering if it is possible to completely forget our jw experience after a long time, and live life as if we have never been one.
no memories, no bitterness, no meeting up with ex-members, nothing connected to the jws in our feelings.. is this ever possible, could it ever happen, and how long possibly..
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and all that.
it's allpart and parcel of making us who we are.
i have learned so much from people and about people from it all ..... i would do things differently but its etched in there.

Fabulous Timmy! its so positive to hear your story! you have inspired me as i am in the position.
i am an MS in love with an elder form my hall for the past 12 years. his wife is pregnant with thier first child and i am devastated over it.
reading your story has made me feel that i can do it, i can leave the Org. i jsut need courage like you!
there's a few stories on here that are really good and i am sure that many posters will be familiar with this.
Good luck with everything!

i'm a former mts graduate, and it's a long story but i recently became inactive after realising it was all nonsense.
the problem is, i've noticed that my mts background makes it almost impossible for people to accept my new status as an "inactive" one.
people think that, given the amount of knowledge i have, there is surely no excuse for me to reach this preposterous decision.. a friend from my mts recently began emailing me to find out my reasons.
HI Cedars,
you have a great ally in your wife. she sounds like a gem. i wish you the best with whatever path you take.
the advice here has been so very good. please take on board these suggestions.
also dont neglect yourself; you mentioned that depression is a concern for you. this is probably ( but not necessarily) related to your current situation
Good luck!

trying to work with jw's and their cd i notice that the harder i push their beliefs the more likely they are to hit back with some werid version of jw belives that exsists only in their own head.. its almost like they listen to the bs from the platform, run it through their head and then process it through their own filter and end up with a bastardised version of "the truth" that they feel comfortable with.. .
anyone else encountered this?
and whats your theory about it?.
Love this thread!
Breakfast of champions- I am so wiht your family on this one. i have heard a few people say that they dont feel 100% on certain things like the generation.
i myself have so mnay views on things, i should be DFed. but i must keep them to myself; the consequences will be dire if not.
i think what i want and i say very little!!
