Notice of disassociation from the Watchtower Society
To: The Governing Body of The Watchtower Society Date: October, 20, 2010
The purpose of this letter is to inform the Governing Body of the Watchtower Society as well as the elders in the X X Congregation inX XX X , that I, X X X X will no longer support the doctrines and practices of the Watchtower Society.
My disassociation is to be effective immediately and is to be confirmed by an official letter from the Watchtower Society stating that my request for disassociation has been acknowledged.
The letter must be sent to the address: X X X X
I can assure you that I have made this decision after going to God, Jehovah in prayer and asking for the Holy Spirit to help me reconcile some of the teachings and practices in Watchtower Organization with my own Christian conscience.
My disassociation from the Watchtower Society is based on a profound research of the factual history of Watchtower Society, reading old books published by Watchtower Society, interviews with bible scholars on different doctrines and practices of the Watchtower Society, my reading of the New Testament alone without the aid of the Watchtower publications, deep study of the original biblical Greek language as well as the comparison of the New World Translation with the original Greek manuscripts.
Following is the short summary of my deferring with the organizational teachings:
1. Jesus Christ alone is the mediator between God and all mankind, He has never spoke of human agency, or organization that would act as His special representatives for other people. The context of the parable of the “faithful and discreet slave” must be applied to each of us individually. All of the followers of Jesus Christ are his faithful and discreet slave and all of us separately can act as ambassadors for Christ to other people. It is not the organization of imperfect human men that can claim such right but the heavenly Father has provided for us a ransom of his son so everyone who wishes can come to Him one on one base and be reconciled to God. The “food at the right time” mentioned in the parable are definitely not an uninspired writings of American publishing company of Brooklyn New York, but it is the infallible, inspired Word of God itself. The doctrines of the Watchtower had to change constantly and many practices had very negative consequences on lives of individual people, but the Word of God- being as old as it is, has never changed and is always the “proper food at the right time”.
2. Witnesses consider any teaching by the Watchtower, even if in error, as if it was the absolute teaching of Jehovah God himself. Yes, to leave the organization, many witnesses feel, they would actually leave Jehovah God! This line of thought is a result of brainwashing and putting a human organization, which has a record of many doctrinal errors, on a level of the mouthpiece of God. I cannot in good conscience think like that. The Governing Body of Watchtower Organization is a worldly business term- not a term that one can find in the bible. After careful reading of the Scripture I found out that it was not the Governing Body in Jerusalem that was directing the affairs of the first century congregations worldwide- as Watchtower claims. It was a ONE occasion for the elders of Jerusalem to resolve a problem that occurred THERE- in Jerusalem. There is absolutely no record of “Jerusalem Governing Body” to have any further impact or doctrinal decision power over other congregations. Watchtower has twisted this part of the scripture to justify their need of the Governing Body and their need of absolute authority and control over the lives of its members.
3. I strongly disagree on the Watchtower doctrine of “headship and submission “as it is taught in this organization. The word “head” in the old biblical Greek does not have a connotation of “authority”. It is not the modern English Language that should be considered when creating a doctrine of headship. It should be the language of the INSPIRED writings- which was KOINE GREEK. The word “head” in Greek is the word “kephale”. Kephale carries the meaning of source, source oflife, origin, foundation or cornerstone, but not authority or even leadership. Similarly it is with the word “to submit”. This word is used in the bible in a MIDDLE VOICE which is “hupotasomai” and the meaning of this word is something like “tend to the needs of”, “to cooperate”, “to carry a burden” etc…
4. I have observed a serious problem in the Watchtower Organization with the mental, emotional and even physical abuse of sisters by their witness husbands who demand the “last word” and absolute submission of their wives. The problem is at epidemic proportions in this organization and it is due to the teaching on “headship and submission” as the Watchtower sees it.
5. I believe that bible teaches equality of women and men, it has examples of female prophets, teachers and evangelist. These women of the bible were used by God to teach, to lead, to speak to His people. Jehovah has always spoken to women the same way He has spoken to men.
There is definitely more I could write as there are many inconsistencies of Watchtower teachings compared to the bible. I would like to end this letter with a wish for all of my fellow brothers and sisters to come to Christ Jesus alone, not to a human organization. Only Jesus Christ is the One that has the power to forgive sins, to show us the Father and to give us eternal life. He is the only guarantee for us. He alone invites us to HIM directly for salvation. There is no another name under heavens, no other human agency, that can do that for us.
In Christ
