just spent some valuable time with a long-lost friend from back in the day.
a reminder for me that jw's are just bubbles waiting to float up into freedom.. one day they will post their story here :-).
.
Congratulations. I hope that so many new members join that it overloads JWN's server.

i understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?
Hi Faithful Witness, Have you read the following thread: The reporting of field service time (1) - Jehovahs-Witness.Net. I used google to search for additional information. Have you researched when the WTBTS started to record hours? Have you looked through WTBTS's annual reports to see when the WTBTS started reporting hours?
Once you know when the WTBTS started recording hours, you will probably discover why the WTBTS started to record hours.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

frowned upon is a lurking member here.
he never posts, but actively reads.
he went home yesterday to attend a family wedding.
To all visitors and JWN members who only read threads, why not write about your feelings on JWN and ask for help?
The WTBTS's Jehovah does not exist! If you believe in God, follow Jesus Christ's teachings in the Bible instead of the WTBTS. If you do not believe in God or have doubts about God's existance, why follow the WTBTS while it victimizes JWs with BITE control techniques?
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

i kind of snapped at my wife today...for no reason really.
and in my frustration ive been contemplating just spilling the beans...i know its not the best idea but i do t know how much longer i can lead a double life and hide the truth.
as i still believe in god i feel like a hypocrite.
Hi DS211, If your wife started to smoke again, does that mean she is a JW? It sounds like taking a break from WTBTS propaganda helps you to relax, so go out an have fun with your wife instead of going to meetings. Also, if you can afford to see a counselor, it might help you handle your feelings better.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

thus asks my beloved and slow-on-the-uptake jw hubby, who is finding it increasingly difficult to drag himself out the door.
so far, i've tried to avoid sarcastic comebacks (i'ts boring and useless!
duh!
Hi jgnat, Since you have hobbies, movies, and other fun distractions covered, how about using the 15-second principle in reverse? To overcome procrastination I tell myself that I will do something for 15-seconds and then end up spending a lot more time working on it. Ask your husband what would it hurt to spend another minute or two having a cup of tea (or somthing else that he enjoys) and distracting him by asking him more questions about how he is feeling or help him to feel good about what is disctracting him?
Special tactics during the winter would be to ask him "How are you feeling? Are you coming down with something? Would you like something hot to drink before you go?" Pamper him a little and show him that you care about him, because other JWs won't. Also, if you know that a storm is rolling in the night before, remind your husband that he needs to dress warmly tomorrow because of the storm before you go to bed so that he has time to think about FS in the storm all night long.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
this is a very strange thing for me to do.
i have been an active witness for over 25 years.
i currently serve as an elder and i conduct the watchtower study.
Welcome thedog1, DITTO what other posters have written about do not tell other JWs about your doubts, unless you want to be DF'ed/DA'ed. Were raised a JW and are most of your friends and family JWs?
It is better for you to vent your feelings on JWN, to independently research your beliefs/doubts, and to critically think for yourself instead of letting the WTBTS tell you how to think. I would recommend that you visit websites like www.jwfacts.com, www.watchtowerdocuments.com, www.jwsurvey.org, www.freeminds2.org, and www.freedomofmind.com to help you research the WTBTS and organizations like it.
After you are sure about your feelings/doubts, then make a plan about what you want to do. You have plenty of options and I am sure that JWN members would be happy to give you advise.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
dear forumites, i need your advise please.. i would like to write a letter to the world headquarters of the jehovah's witnesses regarding a subject that i've published an article recently.
i would like to draw the attention of the gb to said article, which i will send in print form (therefore, no attention would be drawn to the website where it was published).. naturally, because i am a jehovah's witness in good standing in the congregation and what i'll be discussing in my letter will be a dissenting view from the official doctrine/practice, i want to protect my identity and i don't want to be harassed by elders or subjected to any sort of judicial investigation.
nevertheless, i would be very interested in reading their response (if any) to my letter.. how can i do that?
EdenOne - You presume I want to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't, unless I absolutely must. I would rather do something to promote changes.
Hi EdenOne, Why do you presume that I presume you would want to leave the WTBTS? Would you be afraid of the WTBTS's response if you would not be shunned by JW family and friends? If you helped your JW family and friends to critcally think for themselves, would you be leaving the WTBTS?
Being unafraid of the WTBTS's response does not mean that you leave the WTBTS.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert

Hi EdenOne, How about wait to send your letter until you no longer fear the WTBTS's response/reaction? If you are afraid of the WTBTS's response/reaction then don't you already know the WTBTS's response?
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

this is part 3 of a series of posts i plan to make.
the book has 16 chapters.. i will write my comments of steven hassan's latest book, freedom of mind: helping loved ones leave controlling people, cults, and beliefs.. you can purchase the book in amazon.com, there is a kindle version which is very handy since you can read it wherever you have internet connection, or if you have an iphone, an ipad, android phone, etc.. you can get it here:.
http://www.amazon.com/freedom-mind-helping-controlling-beliefs-ebook/dp/b008haiwiw/ref=sr_1_1_bnp_1_kin?ie=utf8&qid=1384750710&sr=8-1&keywords=freedom+of+mind.
Hi ILoveTTATT, I'm glad that you listened and were able to read Hassan's book before you told other JWs about TTATT.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
P.S. - Here are three threads that I wrote about Steve Hassan's book "Combatting Cult Mind Control" about 2 years ago for those who might like to compare the differences between Steve Hassan's books:
Combating Destructive Mind Control – Part I
Combating Destructive Mind Control – Part II
Part III contains some ideas that I had about helping people who are born into a dangerous cult. Most of the ideas I still believe in with a few minor tweaks, and I have learned more ideas by participating in JWN and reading other people's threads.
i think to the benefit of all, i will write my comments of steven hassan's latest book, freedom of mind: helping loved ones leave controlling people, cults, and beliefs.. you can purchase the book in amazon.com, there is a kindle version which is very handy since you can read it wherever you have internet connection, or if you have an iphone, an ipad, android phone, etc.. you can get it here: .

the first chapter talks about determining whether a particular group is a cult.. "destructive cults are distinguished by their use of deception and extreme influence.".
KateWild - Anyone have any advice which to buy first?
Hi KateWild, What do you want to accomplish after reading Hassan's books? Have you read reviews by other readers on Amazon.com or some other seller to help you decide?
Steve Hassan's later books will probably contain more proven information than his first book "Combatting Cult Mind Control" as he refined his model/strategies. On the other hand "Combatting Cult Mind Control" does not include the WTBTS in the body of the book, because Steve Hassan was not aware of the WTBTS when he wrote that book. When I read the titles of Steve Hassan's books, I feel that his first book describes his personal experience being a Moonie and how he was helped to leave the Moonies, what is Mind Control, and how he helped clients overcome BITE control techniques. His second book is more about empowering people to critically think for themselves to free themselves from BITE control techniques. His third book is more about what individuals can do to help loved ones leave controlling people, cults and beliefs.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
