  The JWs are imperfect, so what?

  this is a common reply to any evidence given about false doctrines taught by the witnesses.. we all know that every religion has its faults and scandals.

  so why do we tolerate these imperfections in those faiths and not in the witnesses?.

  my answer: because other faiths admit that they are basing their doctrines on faith alone or tradition.

  Since I feel that JWs saying "JWs are imperfect" is a platitude to deflect further questions about actions of JWs, everyone should ask JWs, who use platitudes, further questions about "How many JWs have you witnessed that were imperfect?", "What were they doing that was imperfect?", and "What should those JWs have done to repent?". Asking JWs additional questions is intended to get JWs to think on their own without raising their defenses that someone is attacking the WTBTS.

  hi, i'm scared to death writing this that i will be discovered and have major problems.

  i had a good life being raised as a jw child.

  many good memories of people, places and times.

  Welcome PaintedToeNail and Hugs. Since JWs only make up about 0.01% (7,000,000/6,000,000,000) of the worlds population, I wonder why there are not more druggies, loser gamblers, and people with lung cancer? I suggest that you read Raymond Franz's books (e.g., "Crisis of Conscience") and Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control") to free your thinking from "What else is there to believe in?". Reading those books may help you resolve your problems and doubts and future conflicts in your family. I am glad that your oldest child will be going to college. Unfortunately, if your oldest child learns to think critically, he/she may awaken and not want to be a JW. What would you do if your eldest child was Df'ed?

  Hi discreetslave, it sounds like you had a perfect hour or two of relaxation while your family went to the meeting. I was wondering how you could keep your husband and family busy, having fun, and away from the KH. I know that you don't want to trigger their stumbling alarms by having "Crisis of Conscience" laying around the house. What would your husband think about having travel, boating, fishing, NASCAR, Investment Business Daily magazines around the house?

  Considering that the WTBTS has changed doctrines from "1914: The Generation that will not Pass" to "Overlapping Generations", you and your husband may need to spend more time learning about investing and managing your portfolio for retirement. The more time your husband spends away from JWs, the easier it will be for you and your children. I wonder what is more important, "Doing FS, or providing for your family?" I am sure that the Bible would say providing for your family.

  Hi looloo, besides reading the book that leavingwt suggested, you should also read Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control") and Raymond Franz's books (e.g. "Crisis of Conscience"). If you cannot get to the library or bookstore soon, you can watch videos of Raymond Franz on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c6I0fjiYNU&feature=related .

  What types of activities do you like to do? Do you like to go to parks, the beaches, play tennis, go bicycle riding, etc? Doing anything fun is a lot better than going on FS and cleaning the KH.

  just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone that has posted their stories and comments.

  i was df'ed a few months ago now and reading this forum has helped out heaps.

  based on that i wanted to contribute in the hope that my experiences resonate with someone and help with the healing proccess the way it's helped me.

  Wecome Adso and I am sorry that the WTBTS has adversely affected your life. Your story is very tragic, and you have the rest of your life to enjoy it. To help you in your healing, I would recommend reading Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control"), see a therapist if you can afford one about your repressed memories, meet local exJWs through exjw.meetup.com if there is a group near you, meet more "Worldly" people, and post regular on this forum asking questions such as how to maintain your relationships with your children. If you believe a little in Our Father (not the Jehovah that the WTBTS promotes), I recommend that you read Raymond Franz's books (e.g., "Crisis of Conscience").

  Welcome curious5 and hugs. You dodged a bullet and should be grateful that your ex-boyfriend broke up with you. Grieve for your relationship that ended and move on with your life. Although I do not see a point in learning about the WTBTS/JWs, you could read Raymond Franz's books (e.g., "Crisis of Conscience") and view his videos on youtube (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c6I0fjiYNU). If you want to learn more about highly controlling organizations, which the WTBTS is, I would recommend that you read Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control"). Your ex-boyfriend sounds like a JW who has not awaken to the fact that the WTBTS is a thought-controlling, publishing and distribution corporation that decieves and uses good people. I know this because a former friend of mine, who is a devout JW, tried to convert me into a JW. I miss her also.

  New to this site. Scared, Lonely and in a lot of pain due to shunning by my family.

  Welcome and Hugs wonder*woman! I am sorry that you are being shunned and I am happy that you have a non-JW family for emotional support. I would recommend that you read Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control") to help you deal with JWs in cult mode. The best thing that you can do considering your situation is to continue to send emails (or cards) with pictures to your JW family and friends. It sucks that your JW family and friends are showing you con-Love and you don't have to play by the WTBTS' rules! Showing unconditional love to your JW family and friends by sending them pictures of how happy you are and showing them how much fun you are having will help to overcome the WTBTS' thought control eventually.

  Hi Walk On, the short answer is, "You can't reason with a JW!". I agree with leavingwt that you should read Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control"), and with troubled mind that you should be concerned about helping your daughter. The most you can do with a JW in cult mode is to ask questions that plant seeds of doubts. At least with your daughter, I hope that you are able to spend time with her doing fun activities with "Worldly" people and teaching her critical thinking skills.

  is there any group that is not crazy(six screens) that puts up legitimate billboards or other advertising about jws.

  any group that deserves donations for really fighting the fine fight?

  i would donate if i knew they were really putting the money toward helping people get out of the borg..

  Hi Diest, have you contacted jwfacts and Barbara Anderson through their websites www.jwfacts.com and www.watchtowerdocuments.com? Have you checked out recommended links through Barbara Anderson's website to identify other respected websites: http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/jw-sites.html? It would probably be best to contribute to established and respected websites so that those websites can expand by adding webpages in languages other than English. It would probably help a lot more people if the aforementioned websites, had webpages in Spanish, French, and Italian languages to name a few.
