this is for those of you who are familiar with my periodic rants about being married to a jehovah's witness.
you won't be seeing any more of them.. my wife and i were up before dawn on friday and spent the entire day on our boat, trolling 10 miles from shore and talking.
we talked about our lives together, the ground we've covered in the 40 years since we met as university freshmen.
Congratulations Nickolas!! I am happy for you and your wife to have found peace and paradise with each other. It is fantastic that you wrote this thread because it shows married JW couples that there are more options than leave or join the WTBTS or get divorced.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

i've been seeing this woman who is very special to me for quite some time now.
there is only one problem, she goes to church every sunday and tuesday.
she keeps asking me to come and complaining that i don't even give it a chance.
Hi shakyground, what are your beliefs? Talk to your friend about yours and her beliefs. If you can find common ground, good for you. If not, you may want to find more friends. It is good that Christians invite you to their church, but they should not bug you about going. I don't know anything about the pentocostal church, so why not research the religion using the internet/Wikipedia to see if you agree with the religion's doctrines, policies, and practises. I do feel that it is important for you to determine what you are looking in a congregation before you jump into another organizated religion. I wrote about what I am looking for in a congregation in the following thread: http://www.jwsupportforum.com/index.php?topic=10502.0

knowing that we are living deep in the time of the end, we keep focused on the main work of true christianspreaching and disciple making.
(matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20) like our exemplar, jesus, we want to be intensely occupied with this lifesaving work.
how can we show that this work is important to us?
Could it be that the WTBTS doesn't care about saving more people, because they are looking for the easy marks to deceive? JWs drop studies because they are not progressing, so it really doesn't matter about using better communication technnology until the WTBTS figures out more effective thought reform techniques. If the WTBTS used Internet, TV, radio, newspapers, and magizines to advertize in, they would be using communication mediums that they cannot control and they don't want JWs using anyways. The door to door ministry has to advantages: it keeps JWs busy so they have less time to think about what they are doing, and the WTBTS is targeting people with a communication medium that they can control. The leaders of the WTBTS aren't stupid they just have different objectives so their methods seem peculiar.

i have been giving a lot of thought to the young people who are leaving the watchtower organization in recent years.
last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.
one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.
Hi Jeremy C, I agree with your ideas. Since the WTBTS is a printing and distribution cult disguising itself as a religion, they really don't want parents to be diverted from passing out literature to raise children. The WTBTS probably doesn't complain too much that parents raise children, because the WTBTS believe that born-ins are their easiest targets for new publishers. Even though the WTBTS doesn't care about ex-JWs, I do feel that members of this forum, should invite as many ex-JWs/JWs as they know to participate in the JWN or other forums like it. At least JWN members care a lot more then the WTBTS for ex-JWs and JWs.

could we be doing more brothers and sisters?
i'm sure i'm not alone in wishing that there was more we could do to hasten the demise of the wtbts and to speed up the exodus of it's members.
and i'm sure i'm not alone in thinking of possible ways to do this.. one which i have been considering lately is to make use of the fact that many who leave the organization actually leave the area, move away, and start a new life.
How many people would like to learn more about the lawsuit between Mr Steven Unthank vs Christian Congregation Of Jehovah's Witnesses (WBTS)through an independent journalist? If you have not heard about this lawsuit, please read the thread by Barbara Anderson http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/child-abuse/213724/1/Victoria-Australia-Steven-Unthanks-Press-Release-JWs-Hierarchy-Formally-Charged-Today-With-Child-Abuse. I am not trying to target JWs as much as I am trying to target "Worldly" people, politicians, and hopefully English speaking imigrants. The downside is that JWs will feel more persecuted, but the upside is may be politicians will think about creating similiar child protection laws in other countries. I just submitted the following story idea to NBC Nightly News at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10285339/. People can also submit letters to:
NBC News
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, N.Y. 10112
The more people who write to NBC Nightly News the more likely that NBC will cover the hearing in Australia. This is the what I wrote:
This story idea is for an update to the pedophile story that NBC Nightly news ran in November 2007 about the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21917798/). I was wondering if Lisa Myers, Richard Greenberg, and/or Australian affiliated reporter/cameraman would be covering the hearing in the lawsuit between Mr Steven Unthank vs Christian Congregation Of Jehovah's Witnesses (WBTS). Mr Unthank is attempting to have members of the Governing Body of the WBTS and others charged with criminal violation(s) of Victorian’s child protection laws. If you want more information about the lawsuit, you can read the information on http://jwnewsnetwork.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/press-release/. The hearing will be held in the Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court of Victoria in Gippsland, Australia on 13 Sept 2011 at 09:30 AM (https://dailylists.magistratesvic.com.au/search-court-lists/search-results.aspx?id=19779764&type=Criminal).
If you would like more story ideas and an inside perspective of the WBTS, NBC reporters should visit support forums for ex-Jehovah Witnesses (e.g., www.jwsupportforum.com, and www.jehovahs-witness.net), as they help each other recover from being in a destructive cult, as defined by Steve Hassan. Also, many ex-JWs post youtube videos about their lives as JWs and how they have been shun by JWs as encouraged by the Watchtower, which is printed by the WBTS.
Thank you in advance for reading this and considering this story.
Sincerely,
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

court case against the wt in belgium.
you may recall that sometime ago i posted an information about it.. jacques lejeunes case, ex jw, who had won an appeal against the adverse second level judgment, will be heard for the last time in front of the mons court on october 18th.. this case is emblematic as it is the first time that the violation of human right against the wt will be heard.. jacques is determined to go to the european court of human rights if this last case will end up in favor of the wt.. whoever wants to join me in attending the trial in support of jacques is welcome.. believe that jacques deserves this support.. the case will be heard on october 18th at 2 p.m. and is planned to last 4 hours.
both jacques and the wt have already presented their memorandum which is available online on my website, but in french only.
Band on the Run - Has anyone tried a sophisticated pr campaign targetted to public officials and the media. If it were the US, I could think of at least six committees that would share jurisdiction.
Hi Band on the Run, I agree with Diest about posting a list of USA committees and news organizations to address letters to. I have been wondering with the current sentiment in government to find new sources of tax revenue, if the IRS should be authorized to evaluate new criteria for charitable organizations to determine whether those organizations do good or harm to society by being a cult. It would be nice if the USA government could change the tax code before the WTBTS' properties in Brooklyn are rezoned as residential property and sold for $1 billon(s). I believe that France is trying to tax the WTBTS, also because the French view the WTBTS as a harmful cult.
I wonder if Lisa Myers and Richard Greenberg would like to know about Mr Steven Unthank's lawsuit against the WTBTS that Barb Anderson wrote about in http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/child-abuse/213724/1/Victoria-Australia-Steven-Unthanks-Press-Release-JWs-Hierarchy-Formally-Charged-Today-With-Child-Abuse. Mr Steven Unthank's lawsuit will be heard in the Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court in Australlia on 13 Sept 2011 at 09:30 AM (https://dailylists.magistratesvic.com.au/search-court-lists/search-results.aspx?id=19679315&type=Criminal). Lisa Myers and Richard Greenberg reported the follwoing NBC News Investigates report in November 2007:

or you can read the news report transcript at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21917798/.

i haven't managed to successfully end my studies with a zealous jw.
she uses everything against me to brainwash me into believing i need the org.
roxanesophia - I said "I'm getting sick over this stuff and really can't afford to invest any more time in it when my hearts not in it too."
Congradulations roxanesophia - you are the WOMAN! You proved to yourself that you can stand up for yourself, and you did it with class!

i'm new to this forum, but my girlfriend, manda-xo (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/214138/1/looking-for-some-help) {her opening thread}, came across it some time ago and wish to share my story as well as look for some advice and opinions on how to proceed from the current standpoint with my family.
yes, it's true that i was born into jw cult.
aapproxiamately 6 years ago manda and i started dating, i started coming into my own around that point, and recently (past year-ish) she helped me fully realize "truth" behind the organization.. .
Welcome dan751 and I am sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, the economy sucks right now, so your options are limited. Although you did not do anything bad from a "Worldly" perspective, you did not do what your parents wanted in their house, and they sound like they are in full-cult mode. Have your parents in the past cycled from cult-mode to caring parents quickly? Here a few ideas to consider:
I hope and pray that things go well for you. Also, go to the library and see if you can checkout Steve Hassan's books (e.g., "Combatting Cult Mind Control") to help you talk with your parents. I know how your parents are treating you really sucks, but the WTBTS is very good at controlling the thoughts and actions of its members.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
