What school did you go to? I learned this in 5th or 6th grade in Utah. It was a very difficult transition for me to transfer into the Utah schools in January from a California school.

around the us, 6th graders (and alot of other grades) are preparing for this spring's standardized testing.
when "we" grew up, the standardized tests were straigh forward math problems.
the standardized math test is now only 16 questions long, but they are all long, drawn out word problems.
What school did you go to? I learned this in 5th or 6th grade in Utah. It was a very difficult transition for me to transfer into the Utah schools in January from a California school.

i really think that staying "in" just for family and friends is doing a number on my health.
i am currently in therapy for the mental part of all of this but i am phsyically sick every time i have to get ready to go to the meeting or service.
i get heart palpitations as well.
lostinnj83 - My therapist also made the recommondation for an anti-depressant as well. This is all to just cope with the pressure of faking it!
Hi lostinnj83, What kind of therapist are you seeing? It is your choice to pay for eiter a good and bad therapists/counselors.
Have you read any of Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"), visited his website, called him at 617 396-4638 for $100 for initial consultation , or watched videos of Steve Hassan like the following video?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-oF-Z_I7U
If you know about Steve Hassan and believe that he has better solutions than your therapist, why not see an exit councilor recommended by Steve Hassan? The choice is yours. Pay money and be sick, or pay money and get better.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
Hi brainmelt, Take your time. The world will not end as the WTBTS predicts. You have a lot of reading and independent research to do. Make your plans, go slowly when trying to awaken your spouse, and post on JWN if you have questions about your plans and if you need to vent.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
i have come here for any advice and support that anyone can give and i really need it now.
i don't talk about these issues with my siblings anymore because they have already told me that they have no advice and can't help.
feelings of anxiety have been overwhelming me the lat 2 years and it makes me feel like a scared little child.
excerpt from Steve Hassan's estranged family member
Most families start with an initial consultation with an experienced Freedom of Mind coach, which includes a complete review of the situation and an explanation of what will be helpful. You will hear specific things you can do to help your loved one disentangle him or herself.
To learn more or schedule an initial consultation you can call our office Monday through Friday 9:30am to 4:00pm (EST). At other times you may leave a message.
The initial 60-minute telephone consult with a coach is offered at a discounted rate of $100. If you prefer, you may schedule a 40-min consultation with Steve for a discount rate of $100. You may use Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, or if you prefer, you may mail a check or money order before the appointment. Please call 617-396-4638 with any questions or concerns.
Hi marriedtoajw, If you liked the video and think that Steve Hassan has good ideas, contact Steve Hassan through his website, call him (see quote box above), and/or visit Steve Hassan's estranged family member page. The video was an inexpensive way to introduce you to Steve Hassan and his methods. A $100 is a lot cheaper than getting a divorce and will help you to vent your emotions as well as locate an exit cult counselor(s) near you, who can help you.
Right now you are frustrated and emotional. You need to vent your pain and frustration, and recharge your emotional energy. Make the call or send an email to Steve Hassan to first help you and than to help your wife to awaken. There is a lot that you can do to help your wife and save your marriage and your family, but you need help first to believe that you can still help your wife and children awaken.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
hi everyone, i have been on here for a little while and haven't introduced myself to you.
i can't tell you how much all of you have helped me sort many things out in my mind.. i was raised in a very good christian home and married my hs sweetheart.
i left home and moved half way across the country with a husband and a brand new baby.
Auntfancy - We have faded at this point but I think for us to have any peace we will DA ourselves. We are using this time to help others out and he has a niece that he wants to help out.
Welcome Auntfancy, I am glad that you were able to fade with your husband. I'm sorry that you were diagnosed with cancer, but happy that you are aware that you have it and are taking action to fight it. Best of Wishes to you and your family awakening other JWs and fighting your cancer.
By the way have you and your husband read Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", or (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"), visited his website, or watched videos about him like the following video? The more that you know about the BITE control techniques that the WTBTS uses: the better prepared you and your husband will be to help awaken others. Have you read the thread the journey of my children in awakening by Aussie Oz? Both Steve Hassan's books and videos and the thread by Aussie Oz might give you and your husband some great ideas.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-oF-Z_I7U
Also, have you thought about sending your husband's JW family and friends emails with lots of pictures of you and your family having fun and doing fun activities? I know it will be difficult for you to do a lot of fun activities while having cancer, but I have heard that laughter and having fun helps your immune system.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
at the request of some, i have gone through many of my posts of the last 3 years to collect all my methods i used to awaken my children to the truth about the truth.. from oldest to newest (i will do them in a few posts so its not an endless scroll thru).
had a bit of a chat today about the internet (which i know he likes to use at my place).
in his use of the net today i found one site he visited was one i had visited to get a pdf of a society publication.
Thank you Aussie Oz for compiling your posts into one thread. Seeing all your posts over the years in one thread has more impact. Best of wishes for fully awakening all your children.
I hope that other members will constantly post to this thread to bump it to the top of the active thread list.
If Lady Lee or Simon read this thread, I hope that they include it in the best of threads.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
i have had a few conversations with my sister who left the org several years ago and has been dating a non jw for several years now.
she celebrates the holidays and everything.
so the other day i brought up some of the things i have learned since leaving.
Hi joyfulfader, I understand your frustrations. I know a guy who left the WTBTS about 20 years ago, does not believe that the Bible is the word of God, and feels that if the Bible was the word of God that the WTBTS has the truth. At least he was not as defensive as your sister, but he did defend the WTBTS when I called it a f__king dangerous cult.
I guess you can take a person out of a dangerous cult, but the cult persona lives on.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert

good day...so this is the conversation i had with a co-worker of mine i mentioned in an earlier thread...shes a jw and doesnt know that i was associated with the jws before and that im a fader.
Danger, Danger Kool Joe!!
You had a great time at dinner with JW co-worker's authentic persona. Unfortunately, if JW co-worker becomes more romantically attracted to you, her cult persona will rise to protect her beliefs.
How do I know this? Because I was once very attracted to a JW and she was very attracted to me. Unfortunately, she is a "Spiritually Strong" (brain dead) JW. She chose the WTBTS over me, because IMHO she was afraid of losing her relationships to her JW family and friends. She avoids going to places that she loves just so she will not run into me. The WTBTS's SHUN GUN is pointed at the mind of all JWs. I wish that I had read Steve Hassan's books or contacted him before I meet my former friend who is still a "Spiritually Strong" (gag!) JW.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
P.S.- FYI my former friend has gone to a counselor and read psychological self-help books and still does not see the WTBTS as a DANGEROUS CULT. She thinks of ways for her authentic persona to co-exist with her cult persona. She even has a DF'ed child, who she will never shun, but her mother does shun.
i have come here for any advice and support that anyone can give and i really need it now.
i don't talk about these issues with my siblings anymore because they have already told me that they have no advice and can't help.
feelings of anxiety have been overwhelming me the lat 2 years and it makes me feel like a scared little child.
Hi marriedtoajw, If you can afford it, contact Steve Hassan through his website to either talk with him or another cult exit counselor by phone or to locate an exit counselor near you. You sound frustrated and burnt out. You need to feel better before you can help awaken your wife and children. If you do not want to spend money for good professional advice, than at least read Steve Hassan's books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control", "Releasing the Bonds: Empowering People to Think for Themselves", and (his latest book) "Freedom of Mind: Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs"). At the very least watch the following video of Steve Hassan to understand why people have been recommending that you either contact him or read his books:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw-oF-Z_I7U
You must chose whether to spend a little money (< $10,000) getting good professional advice preferably from a cult exit councelor/ relationship counselor, or paying a lot of money (> $10,000) paying for lawyers, spousal support, child support, etc. Also, it wouldn't hurt making new non-JW friends to workout with to improve your self-esteem - checkout gyms/YMCA's in your area.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
son was up visiting today and we had some great little chats about all things watchtower.
i would say the chances of him going back are real slim now, for he was telling me of some of his own wtf research on the internet about them.. anyway, at one point he came up, gave me a big hug and said "thankyou for making me think".
it seems that all the little seed dropping and question dropping over the last 3 years really did work!
Hi Aussie Oz, Great news about your son!! How about sharing about what seeds you planted to awaken your son and why for other parents to learn from your success.
Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
Robert
