My Mom just passed away.

dear friends.

i've posted earlier this year that my mom suffered a stroke.

i just got the news that she passed away this evening.

Strange Bar Snacks

i know we've all had the usual salty delights placed along the beer slickened runways of our favorite and not so favorite watering holes...(pretzels, peanuts and popcorn etc....)

but have you ever visted an establishment that veered just a tad from the traditional?

i know of a place that always has bags of saltine crackers and squeeze mustard placed along the bar and a tables.

You probably wouldn't want to know about the studies they've done on bar snacks then...you know, the ones where they've found higher than normal traces of fecal matter on bar snacks, due to all the unwashed hands dipping into them. mmmmmmmm! ;)

i'm really curious about this subject.

i guess i still tend to think anything strange that happens is demons.

now that i'm trying to be open about other possibilities i'm curious.. have you had any experiences with ghosts or haunted places?

Sirona - begging your pardon...I don't usually get involved in these discussions, but I'm curious about what you wrote here: "Eventually IMHO all of us get the healing we need and move on to heaven (or the Summerlands as pagans like to call it...for some reason unknown to me)" First off, I think the Summerlands is a groovy name and I like it better than heaven. *hee* My question to you is, and I'm not trying to be facetious, do you think Hitler will eventually get his healing and move on to the Summerlands?

Eating weird things in China

well, i guess i can say that on my asian trip i knowingly consumed three new animals i had not eaten before (my apologies to vegetarians on the board who might cringe at the way that was worded).

first off, pigeon.

on my birthday in beijing we ate at a very pricey, fancy restaurant at the hotel and we thought we'd try to pigeon to see what it was like.

Very cool stories! I couldn't eat some of that stuff, however.

*ahem* small correction..."We knew that the hump is where the camel stored water..." That is not true. Camel humps are for fat storage. No doubt that is why you found it "tough yet fatty".

New Nail Polish!

i had quit wearing nail polish because it chips, etc.

but i happened to buy revlon's new "10-day system" for $5.99 for two bottles: the color and the top coat.. i did a french manicure and it has lasted with nary a chip or peel for 7 days now!

and i've scrubbed stuff, done dishes, washed my car and on & on it lasts!.

I think coloured nail polish is absolutely grotesque...but hey, to each her own. I never have been much of a girly-girl!

JW Flood Cartoon?

years ago (mid/late-90's) there was a documentary about jws on british tv and in part of it they showed a snippet from (presumably) a wt *cartoon* about noah's flood *pointedly* showing a mother and child drowning.. .

*was* this definitely a jw cartoon or was it just from another source and used as an example?

where can i get hold of a copy?.

I remember something similar in 'My Book of Bible Stories'...showed a mother with her child having scrambled up to the top of a rock...mother with one arm around child, one arm stretched towards ark, crying. Sick.

i love my girlfriend with all my heart and soul, but her family is very patriotic.

i see it rubbing off on her, i see her friends rubbing off on her.

the problem is, growing up in a witness household, patriotism was downplayed.

hahahaha gumby! another good try. but not the right one!

btw, "If a guys got a prosthetic ding dong.....the ladies won't touch him." That's not always true. The ladies definitely won't touch him if it's got splinters though.
