"the congregation's "love-bombing" over my wife had its impact.
i watched her drawing closer and closer to her friends in the congregation.
then she decided she would attend the memorial. "
So glad for you both .....waking up is hard to do!

if my numbers are correct;.
the average per month is 84 new member per month or 4368 a year or 21 per month... i think i am making my numbers a little low.. i just hope this is the begining a huge schesim to hit jw land.. it's too bad my brain washed wife won't be one of them.
I have noticed the increase too .......luv it!

this may sound insane but i literally have blood on my hands as i have just come home from a counselling session that went wrong...i wanted to collate all that has happened and record it...hospital policy is against it.
i said "what am i alive for then if not to tell the truth" she tut tutted and i walked out sadly in despair.. when i got to the ground floor there was a young girl screaming her head off.
she was afraid, that is all she was...........afraid.
I don't understand what you just went through but please know that I care.
Sounds like you have made a huge difference to some ones life as well as your own. Wishing you peace Juliette.

i've been lurking on the board for almost a year now and i think i'm ready to come out of hiding (although, i'm so nervous as i type this).
i'm not ready to share everything about my story, but the basics are that i'm a born-in, elder's kid, baptized as a teenager because i was tired of hearing people ask me "all your friends are baptized, when are you going to get baptized?
", married an unbeliever (was df, but came back shortly after) and we have two kids.
Your name made me giggle a bit ......Thinkerbelle ...just says it all! So glad for you & I wish you & family all the best. As a woman I am proud of your " brazen" attitude toward education......your children are so lucky!
Looking forward to hearing more!

Je suis .......hey this good! Thanks for posting it, its a good come back for a whole bunch of religious craziness!

Hi & welcome from Canada. Lovely to have our minds back isn't it & be our authentic selves. This world is really a wonderful place ...It all depends on how we look at it.

portrait of a girl and her dog.
(a true story by terry edwin walstrom).
her name was cheryl ann draper and she was about 11 years old the day she begged her daddy, who worked at a gas station, to let her go with him to work.
I am just wondering ....you know like we all do ... if you hadn't taken her picture, and if you hadn't sealed her great worth to you with your beautifully moving story... would she ever have found that kind of devotion had she lived? Food for thought.

yesterday some jw's came over to my house and were even being nice to me, most of the time if they do come by an elder or ms may say something but the others will not, its even hard for them to say just hello (how pathetic).
( they also do this behind my back as if i don't know).
i now realize by not being their i've handed my kids right over to them!.
CrazyGuy.....You sound like you are in a bit of a panic...and I don't blame you one bit. Panic just scatters your thoughts though so try to calm down. Your kids need you to take a stand from a strong position. The only way to do that is make sure of what you are talking about by researching. Lots of good ideas shared over the years here on jwn ....do a goggle search. Just pick a few problem areas and work on your critical thinking...once you've got it, memorize those key points to explain those things to the kids.
Don't give up...be honest with them but don't always just tell them show them.............Museums etc are excellent ideas! Kids just love fun so be a fun Dad, you don't have to use a heavy hand with them ...joke around, laugh at your self ...ask them how they REALLY feel about all this stuff and be nice about it. You are smart Guy so I am sure this will turn out just fine in the end.
i was about 12. i took a friend along to a meeting and he said he didn't mind learning stuff but it was a shame it was so boring.. i was about 14. i had my very own bible study and took him along.
he just kept whispering about the girls there that he fancied.. i was in my early 20's.
i took along a lady that i knew.
At a funeral for my Dad.......... all my jw relatives complained about just hearing his religious views .....nothing personal about him!
Just to add .....when first started d2d, I felt so guilty because I knew we counted that time. I could imagine how insulted that person we had spent time with, would be. They thought we were seriously interested in them!
So glad I left!
just wanted to post here real quick, as many have joked about it.
we had an announcement in our cong last week about the upcoming one day assembly.
the title of the assembly is "imitate jehovah".
