  High Profile Case: Seeking Reinstatement

  but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

  i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

  she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

  Glad you came on and ... it's easy to see why you choose the name.

  Kind and good advice has been given to you, from the lovely people on here.

  I may have missed this, and forgive me if I have .... but where is the accountability and remorse for the children of two broken homes. I hear only your eager efforts for reinstatement, and frustration because you want your life back again!

  More importantly, the children's loss needs attention. I think you need to start there.

  Right now you're running around like a fart in a windstorm trying to recoup!

  Fact is, you are remarried to your old friend and have a new child. Clearly that is where your energy and dedication should be. wishing you good luck outcomes.

  i'm trying to figure out a way to deal with these feelings of cowardice, worthlessness, unmanliness, etc.. i'm not afraid of anyone or even what would happen to me (nothing), but i do not want to witness the utter destruction of my family.

  so i shut up and go along.

  i am often reminded of the scene in ben hur when charleton heston's bravery is threatened with the loss of his family.

  it's been over four years since my youngest brother committed suicide.. afterwards, my siblings and i all lived in different states and had lives to get on with.. we all dealt with danny's loss apart from each other in our own ways.. we lost close touch with each other, but over the last few weeks, we have been.

  reconnecting, my brother finally contacting my sister after over a year of no contact.. .

  dealing with the death of danny was something we all felt we needed to do alone.. .

  The organisation wants our money

  has anyone heard that at the end of the theocratic service meeting last night the organisation asked for money, pensions, properties, shares, insurance policies in fact anything of any financial value?.

  it upset some people attending the meeting.. .

  Yes I heard it too. Funny no one wonders why they want our realestate, RSP's, insurance policies, jewellery, cash and anything else that isn't nailed down ...... I thought the end was sooo close, the time when the money will be thrown into the street!!!!!

  Wobble, re Rutherfords 'coal test' - looking at Russell's history, I saw a referrence to a large Coal Co connection. Hmmm, I used to brag about that darn coal story!!!

  without an organization.. also, how could nonchristians or pagans etc find out about christ without someone to teach them?

  after 45 years of using the bible, it is easy for me to say to jesus question "who will you go away to?

  Metaphor, allegory and myth hmm. Looking at the bible this way would lighten it up for sure. Expectations would be lowered ..yes. Have you done a study on this? And it works?

  Thanks for that, Prodigal. I guess if things weren't turning out according to the bible, ... we could just think we were reading too much into it! Less of a letdown....not a bad idea.

  Heaven good morning!

  Interesting points of view - quite agree with the 1st paragraph. For me, the bible has a framwork of truth that I can't ignore.

  But the idea of those 'people in the bush' who have no clue about bibles & prophecy & rules ... and yet god will kill them at armageddon or whatever, leaves me scratching my head too. It's not likely that they have jw's or mormon's knocking on their hut! lol.

  Looks like this is a job for God. If 'knowing' is a criteria, he'll take care of it. If not, maybe we are all toast!

  Hi Tim, yes I have been fooled once.

  Don't misunderstand my intentions. I am out.

  I am trying to answer a JW in a language that will not make them turn off.

  It is not important for me, at this point, that the bible be the only right guide. Neither do I care how mankind gets to hear about God, or Budda for that matter. I do now consider myself a Christian.

  My friend is still caught up in watchtower brain wash, as in - the REAL preaching can only be done by JW's, - gods only true religion! Therefore my words need to satisfy that 'frame of mind'.

  Yan Bibiyan - good idea thanks. I'm putting together questions and answers that hopfully will open ears & eyes so my friend can see the the delusion.
