  i have been lurking on this site and others for a couple of years now, and i feel it is time to step out and say "hello!

  " when i first began investigating my beliefs, it was innocent enough.

  i had been reading an article on scientology, thinking; "wow, these people are just plain nuts!!!

  Who'da thunk all those years ago that we would have this problem today! Gee, at first, it sounded so nice ... and I didn't really want to ever die at all ..& the pet lions and stuff............................

  Hang in there AD, perhaps read Terry's comments very carefully. I couldn't add anything to them except to say his advice is right on and also exactly what I needed to hear at this time too. It's great to have this help and hope you find your way here.

  the kind of tourist who wanted to experiance the "real" rural england.

  they would come to my town and thrill at the quaint old shops, delight in afternoon tea at the many little tea rooms.

  JWs Celebrating Brithdays

  i keep hearing of more and more jws that are celebrating their birthdays or, doing "special days" for their children on the day of their birth.

  i'm sure this has always been done but what interests me is that many people aren't ashamed to admit it since they have used their own fully functioning minds to figure out that the society's birthday ban doesn't hold up.

  one young couple with two kids (he's an ms, she's an ex-pioneer who dropped off the list to tend to the kids) explained it to me this way.... "the happiest days of our lives include the births of our children.

  there are a number of ways that the terms of the new covenant can be violated (and thus nullified) on the part of the recipient like:.

  As one who still chooses to believe the words of the NT, I thank you for your efforts to post this information.

  In view of the upcoming 'memorial' it only adds more fuel to the fire for torching JW idea's. I'll use these words, as well as the words in John 6:53 "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves."

  JWN Researchers - Early financial records for WTS

  how would we get the early financial records of the wts?.

  was the wts considered non-profit?

  a religious order?

  Can you just picture Rutherford being driven around the city by his chaufer with a smug little smirk on his kisser! Good lord, probably the only other car automobile on the road as posh as his, belonged to Al Capone!!!damn I hate that guy!

  While JR licks up the royalty treatment, all the little watchtower peons (you do know the true meaning of peon don`t you) are walking ....probably with cardboard stuffed inside their shoes!

  I wonder if there still are records available for the registration and licenseing of his cars.

  When I was a new Witness (back in the late 40's) the gossip was that the Cadillac cars were the gift of two women living in the South who had money from Coca Cola interest

  .

  Witnesses from the 40's are getting pretty rare these days, I sure hope you share more of your knowledge and stories with us. I am from the late 50's era but the whole time I was in, I did not read nor hear of Rutherfords antics, his Beth Sarim/Beth Shan houses, his apartments in NY, his expensive cars(during a depression yet!) nor his 'drinking problem' and god knows what else! If only I had.

  Being that Rutherford was a lawyer (of sorts) financial records must have been kept somewhere. Too bad we didn`t have the internet then!

  I admire your ability to take the nonsense of the watchtower apart, and expose it line by line. My disecting abilities have not yet been sharpened. So thank you for doing it, otherwise these points would go right over my head! lol ..even tho I know as I read it, it doesn't sound right.

  how come you all are not on the way to or at a meeting?lol.so what are you all doing instead?im lying in gthe sun on my couch,w/a cup of coffee,surrounded by cats and guitars and plants.the house is empty,and im listening to the icicles melt..bliss......
