i am trying to prove or disprove a statement that i read today.
i read a statement by someone that i trust that the wtbts purposely distorts the number of anointed left alive in their reports.. i used to be a jehovah's witness.
i know all of their teachings very well.

It's pretty much a given that the the wtbs purposely distorts the number of most things ... so why would this be a surprise? And why would you care at this point? The diminishing # of 'annointeds' was one of the absolute ways we knew armageddon would be here any minute! Since 1935 got flushed down the toilet ... well now what are they thinking?
For the record, in over 45 years I v'e met only about 4 annointed(so called) !

between all that and studying for meetings and taking care of the house i had little free time.
i show up at the hall at 6:00 am on the day before christmas and no one is there.

Many older ones who were jw's for 45 years or more aren't so lucky. For them to escape the cult is almost impossible. We have many posting here, including mysef, who are the impossibilities!!
I feel sad listening to your story, it seems like this organization 'breeds' a lonelyness, that is almost like a mold ... just covers everything. We are told that we are soooooooo happy ... I only wish that were true.

i've always felt that the adult jws got off pretty easily compared to jw kids.. for instance: .
my dad went to work, and didn't bother his co-workers with jw stuff.
it wasn't allowed.
Bringing back Scully's post of these wonderful but sad and sometimes shocking true stories.
My own children went through some of this ... forgive me. At the time it was thought to be 'good for you.'
Not only do jw's not encourage and support higher education, the little that the kids do get, is marred and hindered by all the stress they are put through by the watchtower society!!
This crap is still going on ... it should be against the law!

so this weekend my wife had a major grand mal seizure for the first time in her life.
she was rushed to the er.
a few hours later while i was at her side she had another major one.. it was the scariest moment in my life.
