i'm doing research for an article of writing on why jw's are clinging on to the religion regarless of the pain and dysfunction.

those of you that remember me know i have written on this subject for many years.

i have not written an article on this topic for over nine years and i wanted to create a relevant post based on the current dynamics and theology.

Victor ..... so glad you came back here today!

Reading your marvelous archival postings I wished I had known you then.

Spending more than 45 yrs in the truth dark, my eyes fully opened only 18 mths ago!

One thing that has become very prominant now is the extreme 'adoration' of the governing body.

Although the doctrine about christ not being the mediator for the great crowd, (onlyfor the 144,000) came out about 1989 ....... that set the stage for complete control of the gb.

Today, you would be hard pressed to find a copy of an 'insider's' watchtower that doesn't idolize the gb. They must be obeyed ...or else!! Even if they are wrong!

Pretty much in every prayer the gb is mentioned. The new song book is 'all' about gb!

They must not be questioned. If brought up on a charge of suspected 'apostacy', the elders are not concerned whether or not you believe in god or christ..................the only thing that seems to matter, is whether you believe the gb is god!!! lol

From where I sit .... a much more "Gestapo" type of leadership now!

New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

i know this has been discussed before, but i want to reopen the topic.

i am currently reading ray franz's memoir crisis of conscience and ran across this footnote with respect to the new world translation of the holy scriptures:.

"the new world translation bears no translator's name and is presented as the anonymous work of the "new world translation committee.

would it be possible to enlarge the font a bit? Guess my eyes are getting older right along with the rest of me .....darn!

Don't know if you have a particular kind of 'machine' where this can't be done ....... so ignore this if that's the case.

Oh boy ... getting kinda worried here because .... well (gulp) I do uhh seem to uhh sense a presence that could possibly be a p$$$s, evidently there are two of 'em.

Ok, I'm not fooling around here, I really see them, plain as day!

Yes I do admit that I have not seen an actual p$$$s for many eaons, but once you have seen one, you are never going to forget it!

Yes too bad the poor dubs follow men's instructions and not their own common sense. Always harping back, sooner or later, to"the terrible threat" looming over all of us! lol. A steady diet of that pretty much explains the mental and emotional problems within the watchtower society!

First of all ..... I've screwed up this post, hate it when that happens!

Anyway thank you very much for the input Room215,Snowbird(syl)x3. and Outlawwilly.

The point is that we do not normally gravitate toward gloom and doom ... the watchtower hands it to us on a silver platter and scoops it in!

We don't normally isolate ourselves ... the watchtower blackmails us with the threat of being shunned & df'd and if we don't shutup behave, they take that isolation/no talking rule and stick it right up our a$$e$ where the sun don't shine! Whenever it suits them!! Not because that's our desire.

Whoever said jw's aren't a dangerous cult ... is wrong!

Outlawwilly all I know is, that before I got suckered into this, ... I never had that worry of "no friends" Even tho I'm a very private person, that thought never entered my mind untill ... it WAS PUT THERE. Put there by a very clever mind controlling group of men. To be used later to bring about the fear of leaving ...'cause I would have NO FRIENDS if I left.

So please don't buy into their lies. For starters you have a best friend, your wife.

Secondly, once the catharsis really hits and all that programming gets cleaned out of you ... it'll be your life...your way. That may mean 1 or 2 friends maybe. Or if normally you like a larger crowd in your life, that will happen. What's that old saying? water always always reaches it's own level? Sooner or later ...wait for it!
