Theists are wrong. I know this because I'm the Eggman and thus have seen and spoken with Liberace personally.

Theists might have reason to dobt and good reasons based on lack of evidence of a living Eggman, but who is to say just because Eggmandoes not appear personally to theists, he isn't appearing to a select few of his personal followers? For those to whom he does appear, there is little to help others to believe since they would just dismiss them as loonies, whether theEggman is real or not. So the Eggman isn't particularly interested in showing himself to the world or to theists at this point, probably considering swanky party with boas and small bunny rabbits sufficient. But he has been appearing to others apparently; me being one of them.

So it is nice to be able to put a definitive answer on the "Is the Eggman real?" issue. That is, is the egg of the God Delusion real? He is. He's alive and well and about to demonstrate his powers at the swanky party with boas and small bunny rabbits. I have direct proof of the Eggman, but of course, that is very rare, but my circumstances are rare as well. That's the way it goes. Keep in mind, though, if the Eggman wanted to make it easier for those to believe in him, he would have.

Theism, regardless of the rheoric, have lost this one. Sorry.

i am just curious, and not judging.

if you are a christian and you know that december 25th is not jesus' birthday, and may have pagan roots, then why celebrate it?

i was raised a dub as most of you know, and have learned the ttatt so i know how wrong they are about a lot.

i`m only halfway through chapter 4 and enjoying what i have read so far .so why am i asking for peoples comments now ?

the reason i have is this : i wish i had done something like this when i first was approached by the witnesses ,i beleive i would have been more informed to make some enlightened decisisions that would eventually shape my future .. whereas not doing so i spent the next 33 years a slave of the watchtower , and not just me but my wife and children , not that i`m suggesting i would be a slave of richard dawkins , but i can weigh up the pros and cons as i progress through his book ,then hopefully i can draw the right conclusions , if their are any.. smiddy.

Well, I should qualify that. I don't have an opinion on any god because no theist has been able to explain to me in satisfactory way that such a god actually exists. Therefore, I have no opinion of any god because I don't have anything of substance to comment on or go on. (other than their personal experience and I don't sway easily)

It's like having an opinion or comment on the purple leperchaun that my neighbor insists that they think is real in the community garden we share. I just haven't met the bloke. ;)

Let's break it down. You say a god exists. I say show me the evidence. (You show me evidence). I say that is not sufficient evidence and bid you good dayand politely go my way. You chase me down and say it's your burden of proof, it's your burden of proof!

Again this bears repeating, atheism is not a worldview and it doesn't have a postion. It's not a way of life. It's a disbelief in the claimant's assertion that gods exist due to insufficient evidence.

These strawmen sure like to pop up a lot.

Atheists are wrong on a lot of things: financial decisions, family decisions, personal matters etc. As to how an atheist can be wrong in matters related to some supreme being is another matter.

just by knowing what will happen, that doesn't mean that we can prevent or cause something to happen.

my knowing that does not prevent them the free will of making the choice.. it's the same with god.

if god is not restricted to existence in the present, then the future is known by god because god indwells the future as well as the present and the past.

Just a slight correction on the above statement. You mean what ancient people made up about what they thought god was and how it would be interpreted a million different ways and eventually how all of this conjecture would eventually be called the bible.
