I heard of a similar experience but not via email but from the platform about a brother here in Australia and our Prime Minister Mr Howard years ago . . .

one time i was going door to door in a retirement community.
i'm not sure but i think ite was sponsored by the lutheran church.

my grandmother has been a little ill, and had to be put in a facility temporarily.
she should be getting out sometime next week.
i'm not particularly close with her, and that probably has a lot to do with my father.
She looked at me smiling and full of joy, and whispered, "that is really something isn't it?" I replied with I'm sure a crazy grin on my face, "Yes it is." All the while I'm thinking to myself, "I've got to get away from these people. They're all nuts."
Made me laugh out loud, I thought the exact same thing during a meeting once at the KH. A few months later I was out!

But only months ago I would of said 'no' because I was a dorky JW believing in fairy tales of Armageddon and Paradise Earth... How embarrassing.
When I realised it was all BS, it was very hard to come to terms with, it's the first time in my life that I ever thought of such a thing. I am now at peace with it and don't care when I die, the later the better but we have no control over it. If Jeehoobooh existed we would all die anyway as he finds pleasure in killing people, murdering psychopath!

had a good look into the doctrine, beliefs and practices of jws and to be honest, i don't really see anything wrong with it at all.. it's biblical and i've had such an eye opener the past year or so reading some of their books and magazines .
is there really any real reasons why i shouldn't want to get involved further?

My answer is yes, I was one for 30 years, if all goes fine you might think 'hey all is well' but when things go bad & they eventually do, they turn EVIL on you in a heart beat. The sad thing is, it happens to most JWs but we just put it down to imperfect people and still looked at the Organisation as Gods! This keeps you in and the pain continues, then you wake up years later to the fact that you have wasted your life and wished someone told you truth about this awful religion years ago.

It's like shopping for a good surgeon. Just as if you would want to hear from patients of a surgeon who stuffed them up quite badly, you should learn from the stuffed up ex-JWs here and find the truth about the religion you are going to base your life around. The smiley happy JWs at the Kingdom Hall are the glossy 'info commercial' for the Watchtower Corp, here on this forum is where you'll hear about the reality of The Watchtower Society's handiwork. i don't know of any other religion that makes such a discussion of entitlement over funerals---who is entitled to come and who will be asked to leave, who is entitled to have a funeral and who is not.. i ran across this info on another website and it reminded me of the way jws are so ill behaved and cold about funerals.. .
in the premodern world of ancient rome, the earliest christians organized themselves into funeral societies.
these organizations helped the poor and middle classes combine their resources to bury their dead friends and family members in a manner honoring their religious beliefs and cultural practices.
Well, I have heard that a JW wedding and a JW funeral is basically the same thing.

i have just downloaded it tonight and i'm already on chap.
I'm almost as blown away as I was when first reading CoC.
I was MORE blown away with Jehovah Unmasked than CoC or any other JW related book.
I highly recommend it!
