At what point did you realize JW's were a Cult?
by Think About It inmost of us x-jw's at one point no doubt defended the jw's when called a cult.
althought being out since 95', when i first came here it took awhile before i could use the cult word to describe the jw religion.
finding out about the pedophile scandal was disgusting, but it was probably finding out here about the wts history and terrible personal experiences of some on this board that made me finally admit that the jw's were a cult.

I realised it was a cult when I started reading this forum, funny enough, last night I just finished reading "Combating Cult Mind Control".
That book just proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
You simply need to answer this question for yourself: Why would a group of people have Suicide Cards in their wallet?
That made me laugh so much . . .and out loud!
It's so true leavingwt, you hit the nail on the head with that simple question!
I can't believe I was one of those who had a 'Suicide Card' in my wallet, it just blows the mind to think of that now.

I HATE this religion
by brotherdan inso today was my first sunday meeting that i didn't go with my wife.
as an update she has decided not to move out right now...because she doesn't have anywhere to go.
but she is giving me the silent treatment.

So true, JWs see that anything that is trying to take them away from this religion is from Satan.
I feel for you brodan, this cult is a cancer on the people trapped in it and on those who are trying to escape. It's never pretty fighting cancer but it can be done. Time is needed, each persons fight is unique, even though you have shared your story with us, we really do not know the full story. You know your wife better than she does, forget fighting with her about the 'truth', maybe it's time to fake it and return. Then use the 'Family Worship Night' as the head to wake her up about this shitty religion. Like I said 'maybe' for who am I to tell you what to do or what will work. I really feel for you . ..
This might take years to help her wake up to the truth about the 'Truth'.
It took my friend 8 years to help his wife see it.
