The Jehovahs Witness Baby Sitter

just thought id pop in with a new thread concerning the development on my childrens lives.

my youngest daughter goes to a babysitter who is a sister in my wifes congregation.

the reason being is because the child is an infant and regular daycare is much too expensive.

GaryNeal, I never imagined you a dad with young kids. I FEEL YOUR PAIN my friend about the JW babysitter situation. When I was still married and active JW I had two JW friends watching my kids while I was at work. Once I exited and was divorced I kept it up because there was so much change and I did not have time to get another situation down. So this summer I completely changed that and got a college girl to be my nanny while I was at work. It was great. I obviously did not pluck her off the streets and actually she was the sister of a girl I used to work with, and it turned out to be a good situation. My next option was to use care.com. It is a new website that I know people that have found great sitters and nanny/babysitting services and other stuff too. If you can convince your wife to maybe have someone come to your house, it might not be any more expensive.

My JW sitters were still being too overbearing for my taste so I had to do what needed to be done. Good luck!

today, a sister in my congregation told me that she could never abandon me because i have been disfellowshipped.

when she told me that she feels such a powerful driving force telling her she cannot leave me, it really made feel very warm and very close to her.

when i told my dad, he said to me that the force compelling her is the most powerful force in the universe: love!

I hope you find resolution and at home wherever you end up my friend. :) Just remember that life is short and you have a right to be happy no matter what people say.

I've stopped my bible study but....

the lady i studied with asked if it would be okay if she still brought the magazines by.

i said of course because i do love the awake and watchtower.

well, when she came by last week, she gave me the mags and then as we stood around chit-chatting, i realized we were basically still having the study, only we were standing up instead of sitting in the living room.

I dont know you PP, but in your defense, perhaps you might enjoy them because they are easy to read and once in a while they remind me of Readers Digest. Little off the wall articles that used to get my attention for more than a millisecond.

Do you like the religious stuff they recycle? Ever find it a little embarassing to read?

hi, long time no see.

i am finally out of the borg.

had a talk with an elder-friend-family member today who said i should just do it if that's what i want to do, and my wife says if that's what i want to do that she's fine with it.

I am sure your last talk brought some comfort to people who were burdened down by the laws of the JW org. Good job, very interesting read. I am curious to know more details about your exit. Sorry if you have posted them elsewhere, I have not been online here in a while.

she has been out in field service with her family and goes on to tell me of all the spiritual activities they have planned for the fall.

all of her children are homeschooled and pioneering.

she actually said, "well maybe i will send them over, but they have rehearsal for the special assembly day program.

I am surprised your JW relatives talk to you and let your kids intermingle. Did you post your exit story? I am curious to see whether or not it was cut and dry or they still might be wondering.

My block has a party in a couple of weeks. Was yours fun?! What did you guys do? Looking for any ideas if I end up going.

What Actually Made You Leave The Organization?

many of us needed time to get away from this religion.

i took the course of fading and it's worked pretty well for me.

after i saw sooooo many silly rules being enforced, i needed to get out!.

A lot of stuff bugged me. But what really struck me was reading a book about fundamentalist Mormon's and how similar they are to JW's. Once I figured out that I didn't have the golden ticket, it took about 6 mos to come out of the fog, and I knew it was just another religion.

god i have a ton of them collecting dust in my closet....42 long if you need one....i told my dad/elder to help himself as i have no use for them anymore.....damm i hated dressing up three times a flukkin week........how did i do that for so long??

I have a ton of JWish dresses on a rack in my basement. I thought about having a "calling all JW women garage sale, modest dresses and long skirts galore!" But I do have a ton of panties. What can I say, I like my options!

the witnesses say that if you leave the religion you will become a very vile person.

you will probably get vd.

you will get into drugs and booze, your life will go to hell.. personally, i've been pretty much the same guy although i would now be viewed as a "fornicator".

Bad is relative. Let's see, I drink wine, beer, or occasional mixed drinks on a social level, and sometimes at home I have wine. I don't smoke and never did drugs. My sex life would make you all blush, but it is with one person only. I can be a little naughty and bad sometimes. Like topless sunbathing on the boat and that sort of thing. Does that qualify as bad? I do swear when I stub my toe. I guess I need to knock that off. One thing I am more bad about is I am not as vigilant in covering up any little morsel of booby that might pop out of a dress or shirt.

What keeps you going after your exit from the Watchtower Society?

i am curious as to what you first did when you left the watchtower society's mind control cult.. did you try to find friends who had gotten out also?

did you go to school (college/university)?.

how different was the "world" you now found yourself in compared to living in jw-land?.

I have kids to take care of, a job, a social life. I have not gone to church at all, although I did read a lot of religious things to try and make up my mind how I felt about life. During my exit I got a divorce, so that took a lot of time and was full of drama. Kind of a distraction. Plus I have lots of holiday's to enjoy and birthday parties to go to.

The anger returns

i have not logged in here in a while.

seemed i was able to subdue my anger and smash all of the past behind me for a while.

it has bubbled back to the top..... i can't complain, life is good.

Thanks for letting me vent and not gettin all crazy since I used some poor choices for words. Yeah, it still pisses me off. I think I am most bothered and feel bad for my dad. He is such a great guy, and he misses my sister too. (He is also of the shunned crowd).

When I said I wished something bad would happen, I should have said that I know my sister's psyche and makeup, and I do not think she will ever emerge out of the fold unless a life changing event happens to her. Usually it is something big to make someone wake up.

I miss a lot of you here, I can't get on at work anymore as I got a new job and I usually surf on my lunch if I stay in, but I sit in a well traveled area, so there is no way I can get any privacy.

I need to catch up and see what you all have been up to!!!
