I know a POMO ex-elder who now refers to it as the "reject Jesus Memorial" for the reason covered by Big Dog.

"...The Most Important Day of the Year" Watchtower January,2024
by Listener inwhat a mockery that statement is to over 99% of their followers.
there is nothing biblically that makes the jw memorial day important to anyone that does not partake.
they still continue to say .

The whole thing makes no sense.
If the meal isn't for non-"anointed," why invite them?
Why come to a meal where you are expected to handle the emblem trays but not partake of anything?
Why come to a "meal" at a Kingdom Hall where no one at all partakes?
Why come to a Memorial to Jesus only to be told that you aren't worthy to partake?

Preaching while traveling, shopping, working, waiting in parking lots
by RULES & REGULATIONS inkingdom ministry 9/96 pp.
3-6. preach the good news everywhere.
2 jehovah’s zealous servants of today have the same objective—to reach everyone possible with the kingdom good news.

That 1996 KM's reference to "Jehovah's zealous servants of today" stands in stark contrast to recent photos of bored JWs sitting alone next to a cart, looking at their cell phones, talking to no one except to refer anyone who does ask them a question to the Watchtower website.

Is There Going to be Money in the New System?
by NotFormer inif not, what's in it for the gb?.
but seriously, how is it supposed to work?
pictures of jws in paradise show them raising crops, wearing clothes and building houses.

No need for money...
JWs will spend all their time having picnics and petting lions.

The WT theory seems to be that if you say it often enough, that's proof.
Seems to work for them...

Former Jehovah's Witness admits: We targeted grief-stricken as 'ripe fruit'
by Londo111 inhttp://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/80708572/former-jehovahs-witness-admits-we-targeted-grief-stricken-as-ripe-fruit.
jehovah's witnesses target grief and see the recently bereaved as "ripe fruit" for conversion, a former elder of the faith says.. vince and michele tylor spoke out after reading the story of wellington woman jean sergent-shadbolt, who received a handwritten letter from a jehovah's witness three months to the day after her step-cousin, friend and flatmate died.. a current senior elder of the faith says it has no policy to target grieving, and those who do so are acting on their own initiative.
however, he concedes such people may feel guided by jehovah's witness literature.. but vince tylor said he knew of members who would trawl though obituaries to find grieving people, or visit cemeteries.. "not only do we see watchtower printed material suggesting and supporting writing letters from obituaries such as what jean received, but we even have reports and articles of encouragement for jws to go to cemeteries to look for people as well.".

This practice would seem to fit right in with the WT's view that they are offering the hope of resurrection to people who have only grief otherwise.

Why is the Faithful Slave Now Admitting Ignorance?
by Vanderhoven7 indbm writes on the question: will sodomites get a resurrection?.
i guess it depends the date that you asked this question.
here is a screenshot from a video which gives an overview of the changes (new light) on this question:.

In one sentence, they claim to speak for God.
In the next sentence, they are just humble men, subject to error, trying their best.
Either way, JWs must agree with everything they currently teach or get kicked out of the Kingdom.
"We mustn't be dogmatic" about who will or won't be resurrected in the end times, but we know about all sorts of invisible happenings in 1914 and that the "generation of 1914" overlaps.

The WT had a long period in which they felt it necessary to comment on all sorts of obscure topics.
After all, it's embarrassing when "Jehovah's channel" says, if effect, "We have no idea."
That said, I've often wondered whether the GB realizes what the organization has already published on a given subject because often they ignore it rather than trying to explain why they've now come to a different conclusion.
Why not stick with what they originally said regarding topics that don't matter today, such as the fate of the men of Sodom?
When they've flip flopped back and forth, why don't they just let the matter drop?
Further comments only serve to draw further attention to their vacillation.

Thought on “0 hours” reporting
by FFGhost inso everyone knows the “big news” of this past weekend, no more reporting of hours, placements, return visits, etc.
beginning november 1, jws just tick a box indicating whether they “shared in any form of the ministry during the month”.. so there was a brief comment by a redditor that seems like a brief joke “throwaway comment” but after thinking about it….why not?.
the idea is, what is “any form of the ministry”?

I expect the GB to come out with a clarifying definition of what does and doesn't qualify as "the ministry."
I also expect it will involve field service.

As we all know, WT definitions are subject to change without notice.
Sometimes they don't even bother to call it new light.
Most JWs assume it's always been that way.
