They didn't say they were stopping field service.
Elders will still stress the importance of witnessing and "lovingly counsel" JWs to do it.
now that they no longer have to report hours do they still need a territory guy?
maps?
etc...?.

this is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

They'll still be able to say, "Our zeal in witnessing shouldn't flag at all in these last days. By the way, Brother PIMO, would you like to come out in service with me on Saturday?"
sometimes things don't come across the way the speaker intended.. years ago there was an ad by the whitegoods company fisher and paykel.
they showed them going to great lengths to get customer feedback on what was important to them.
one customer said that she wanted it to be easy to get her appliances serviced when they broke down.
Vanderhoven7,
Good points, but instead of "deep research of Watchtower publications only," I'd say, "Make the truth your own" means "accept without question what the WT teaches now and don't let it cross your mind that they ever taught anything else."

On further thought, I would expect the organization to stress that this change doesn't mean there should be less field service.
I expect something like this: "Brothers, just because field service reporting requirements have changed doesn't mean we should flag in zeal. If anything, the amount of our door to door witnessing ministry should be increasing given that this may be the last chance for our family, co-workers, and neighbors to come into the truth before the fiery storm of Armageddon is upon us. If we truly love Jehovah and love our neighbors as ourselves..."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the rationale for the reporting requirements that they were necessary in order for the organization to conduct the witnessing work efficiently?
If so, either that was a lie or the GB no longer cares about witnessing efficiency.

"...the field service report will simply have a box that allows each publisher to indicate that he or she shared in any form of the ministry during the month."
That could mean anything, even giving one friendly greeting to a visitor at a meeting.
Now what will the COs have to complain about to the elders? Not enough pioneers? Not enough studies being conducted?
Why would they do this with Armageddon supposedly sooooo close?
So they can circle the wagons and hide in bunkers more effectively?

The WT has a lot of thought stoppers like:
"Wait on Jehovah."
"Don't run ahead of Jehovah's chariot."
"Trust the slave."
"Doubt your doubts."
"Where else could we go?"

Over 50 years ago, an elder told me the same thing almost word for word -- "Some people have told me that I'm brainwashed. I told them that's a good thing. It means I have a clean mind." Must be someone in the writing department thought that was really clever and circulated it so JWs would parrot it.
here is an apostate elder's honest testimony.. https://youtu.be/epmbbou4nve?si=lzhgmnbyyryurayx.
A very thoughtful man...
My fear is that he's trying to go this alone.
i'm not sure if anyone remembers me since i do not post here much anymore.
i sometimes pop in around christmas time to see if anyone is interested in exchanging christmas cards like we used to back when i first posted on this site.
speaking of which, the holiday season will soon be upon us.. if you recall, i was married to a jehovah's witness and i had a daughter i spoke of a lot.
I've been doing well, Garyneal.
Health is good.
I've given some talks at churches and at ex-JW gatherings to alert people to a number of the false teachings and practices of the WT.
