Lease cars for circuit overseers (worldwide arrangement)
by Gorbatchov inyesterday evening a letter of the dutch (netherlands) branch of the watchtower society was read to the congregation.
it stated that the governing body has made a new arrangement for circuit overseers worldwide: the society provides a lease car.
it was backed with some bible texts (...) and the conclusion was that it was financial cheaper for the congregations.

we here in US have been paying for thier cars for years and when they get them thier leassed brand new then somehow those in congragation have the oppertunity to buy the used lease car after so many years and i think its 3 years or aslong as co stays in one circuit then possibly gets a new one to lease paid by us.

What Is Truth?
by Reopened Mind ini was the one at the meetings who had a dictionary or at least a definition written in the margin.
i thought it was important to understand the meaning of words to better comprehend the lesson.
i liked that the writers would throw out words which were not commonly used to help us expand our vocabularies.

the truth never needs defending because it is and can and does stand on its own, needs no defence, protection!!!!

Others not of this fold, thoughts?
by TheJigsUp ini read this again just the other day in a post here i believe.
where jesus said he has 'others not of this fold'.
the context it was quoted in i found curious and it reminded me of thoughts i had regarding the words when i read them 'for myself'.

i think Jesus was talking possibly of the unconscious, witch had the potential of being almost any that could be awakened to their spiritual need not identified with the world of form and possessions, ego, etcetera. Where as his apostles and disciples were or well on there way to being awakened to what really matters, and to the source of life that they are and we are truly part of. The spirituality Jesus taught was much deeper than our world religions explain. Although many of their teachings are signpost leading to the truth. My thoughts but i don't claim to be right or wrong

CO's putting the screws on elder bodies, and ministerial servants to auxilliary pioneer this April.
by miseryloveselders ini have such a love/hate, 50/50 relationship with this organization any more, but a letter was read to the elders and ministerial servants that has pushed me to the 30/70 range in favor of hate, if even momentarily.
most of you if not all are aware of the auxilliary pioneering initiative for this upcoming april.
it's no secret that i'm not real fond of pioneering as its unscriptural for one thing.

my comment, it like christmass, give a gift any time of the year, valantines day, i dont need the world to tell me that at this time i should tell my wife i love her cause i do all year long and we can and should give gifts any time.
How much more so should our love for christ be displayed? all year and as are hearts move us!! Not because of a time period in the year to boost up numbers or money through donations.
Jesus teachings went much deeper than that!!!!!!!!!!!

Jehovah'$ Witne$$e$ say center would have big impact
by betterdaze injehovah's witnesses say center would have big impact.
a planned 3,000-seat educational center will have a substantial economic impact on orangeburg county over the next five years, jehovah's witnesses officials say.. .
the center could generate $264 million in revenues over a five-year period, with the added benefit of more than $18.4 million in new sales tax revenues for the local area, church spokesman bill sims said.. .

I believe that is money that witnesses would be spending on that economy including hotels, going out to eat ect.

1 thing iv hear a bit from others is if the end is near why are the still building and planning years in advance. I heard a simple answer as about 3.5 years ago I was on the regional building committy. I was just one member of part of one group called moister remeadiation-water damage, mold to restore kingdom hall.
At meetings when there is allways a big push to have us elders and others too spread the word and get recruits the idea was that even though the great tribulation is near, then harmagedon, Jehovah will use our buildings, so much like the preaching work we need to keep building and repairing to save money. Just keep going. Your thoughts. and yes it is true individuals shant plan and build only Jah org.

"Field Service Groups" are more important now than ever before?
by easyreader1970 inthe scare bells are ringing again in the congregations.
this past week, the field service group leader/commander/overlord/whatever made a pretty lengthy announcement that, going forward, the field service groups are going to be of the utmost importance as we wind down towards the end here.
while no indication on when this end might actually be, it was hinted that we might not always have access to the congregation proper and that the few families that are part of the fsg would have to become close knit that they might depend on one another when things get ugly.. i haven't read everything that has passed through the wbts' sphincter lately, but did i miss something?
