Faith On The March
by RN inanyone out there have an original edition of this book?.
because i'm trying to decide if i've lost my mind or have the worst memory ever.
in my early teens (mid 1970's) i read this book, and i always wanted to read it again; especially in the early '90's when things really started to bug me.

Just got a call from an elder
by nolongerconfused inso i faded over a year ago...i told the elders that if i needed them i would call them.
1 year and 3 months later, today, i get a call from an elder who used to be my good friend...he calls and i dont pick up..he leaves a voicemail, saying "hello ____, please call me back at 444-444-4444 whenever you can".
i was like wow, this has to be one of those calls to get inactive ones back to the memorial.

An elder I have not seen or heard from in 9 years came by to see me out of the clear blue sky early one morning last week. I was asleep at the time. He did not leave any literature for me or memorial invite. My sister left me a note that he had come by.
None of the elders have any real concern or interest in me. Probably my name was also on a list of those inactive who they try to get back to the memorial. All a formality to check our names off a list and get credit from Jehovah.

2014 Convention Program is up on jw.org
by factfinder ina new book for children on friday?.
a brochure about god's organization on saturday?.
-

I would not be surprised if some change is announced at this convention. They have to try to do something to keep the bored, weary and apathetic witnesses excited enough to be active in fs and go to meetings.
They need to keep things fresh, of course that does not mean they will.
But as always, any new light is always true and the new light it replaces is always true still, new lite and old lite, truths old and new- are always true-even if they contradict each other.
Not doubt it will end up being just another boring convention instructing jws to shun any who dare to stop attending meetings.

I thought about a new revised Proclaimers book too for Saturday, but I agree, it seems unliikely given the constant cutbacks in the printing budgets and the new nwt is more costly to produce than the regular edition was.
So probably just a brochure with highlights of their 100 year history to give to bible students, but, maybe a video?
I'd like to see a completly revised, updated and expanded Proclaimers book.

The Last BOE!
by Atlantis inthis is the last boe we will be able to provide.
our informant or source, was caught, disfellowshipped, and thrown out of bethel.
we knew that sooner or later the watchtower would find him out.

Thank you Atlantis and thank you to your friend.
It is a shame he was caught. I hope he can have a happy life now living with his family member, completely free from the control of the org.

Why the "worldly" thought of heaven is more comforting than Paradise
by kneehighmiah inone of the worst and best things about waking up is realizing that despite what you've been taught as a child, you are going to die one day.
that was easy for me to handle, as i've had near death medical emerigencies.
the hardest part is the thought of losing your parents.

I also felt the paradise earth hope was more realistic then going to heaven, a place for spirits. I have seen pictures of paradisaic surroundings that people now have and it seemed to make sense that the earth could one day be made like that.
All of my life I feared losing my beloved Mother in death, and that horrible time came in April 2000. I reread everything I could about the resurrection, but thinking I'd have to wait till towards the end of the 1.000 year reign, hundreds of years from now, to see my dear Mom, was very discouraging. And Armageddon never came, thus the new world and seeing my Mom again became further and further away. Not comforting at all. My Dad died in 2006 and I had realized that Armageddon and the new world will not come in my lifetime, if ever.
Then I discovered the tatt and lost faith in ever seeing my dear parents and other relatives ever again.
The witnesses told me when I began studying back in 1976 "you will always be a teenager' because the new world was so close and I would never grow old. Now I am 56 with no future to look forward to.
I have not been able to believe in an afterlife in heaven as there has never been any proof of it and the Bible teaches that when we die, that is it, we are dead, UNLESS Jehovah resurrects us, which I no longer believe he will do. (IF he exists).
I think those who DO believe in an afterlife in heaven feel comforted in their beleif but it is just not realistic to me. I wish it was.

Thank you Barbara!
Today jw.org also released a new video about moving out of 117 Adams Street. It makes me feel so sad those idiot gb.2 members sold it. I have memories of a very happy part of my life visiting that printery, it was at one time a very special place to me, and I feel nostalgic seeing the video. I have not been able to be there since 2003 and now it is sold.
I have not been able to get to Wallkill since 1997 and wonder if I will ever get to tour the printery there.
I think it will be several years before the other Brooklyn Buildings are sold as they have to be able to relocate the operations and personal.
I wonder where the laundry/dry cleaning operation will be moved to which is currently still at the Adams st complex, Bldg 3, 55 Prospect street.
But as sad as I am about the salesof these Bethel buildings by the moron gb it just helps me to see that the jw religion today is not the one I became part of back in the 70's.
