2014: do you see Witnesses ramping up activity? What will the aftermath be in 2015?

jw's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind.

but the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet.

since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning.

I also did not prepare financially for my future- I started studying with the cult , um, witnesses, when I was 18, right after HighSchool. armageddon was coming VERY SOON!

I wish I knew then what I know now about the wt scam.

A sister who used to bring me the magazines and publications has not been by since January. And there was a long gap before that. I wonder if she is so worn out she also has cut way back on FS, or maybe gave it up altogether?

I see much continued weariness and apathy among most witnesses for the next few years.

I tried signing up yesturday. I set up an account but it would not let me use my password or username after activating it. I changed password, started again. Several failed tries-it said my account was locked or disabled. I was disgusted.

I went directly to medicaid. Tried to get online application. It failed- said it crashed. I gave up.

May try again another time for medicaid. But I can make no co-pays. What money I have left now goes to food!

What do you think attracts new ones to the JW organization now?

why are they joining?

I am unemployed and cannot afford ANY health care- I can make no payments at all. I have no taxes to pay as I have no income, so tax credits are useless to me.

Obamacare is a joke.

NotBlind- excellent post.

I just wanted to add the decreasing of book production and going from using several books in the door to door work to only using the Teach book.

They cut back the printing budget every year.

I don't ever see witnesses going door to door in my area. Either there are too few of them or they are apathetic.

anyone out there have an original edition of this book?.

because i'm trying to decide if i've lost my mind or have the worst memory ever.

in my early teens (mid 1970's) i read this book, and i always wanted to read it again; especially in the early '90's when things really started to bug me.

Just got a call from an elder

so i faded over a year ago...i told the elders that if i needed them i would call them.

1 year and 3 months later, today, i get a call from an elder who used to be my good friend...he calls and i dont pick up..he leaves a voicemail, saying "hello ____, please call me back at 444-444-4444 whenever you can".

i was like wow, this has to be one of those calls to get inactive ones back to the memorial.

An elder I have not seen or heard from in 9 years came by to see me out of the clear blue sky early one morning last week. I was asleep at the time. He did not leave any literature for me or memorial invite. My sister left me a note that he had come by.

None of the elders have any real concern or interest in me. Probably my name was also on a list of those inactive who they try to get back to the memorial. All a formality to check our names off a list and get credit from Jehovah.
