I just want to mention that the sign "Read God's Word The Holy Bible Daily" was on the 117 Adams Street building, Sands Street side and it was painted over along with the other signs on the Adams Street complex because the society sold it. The name JW.ORG was not painted on it.
put yourself in the org's position - distasteful as that is - and come up with a solution to solve the problems of not only recovering their stock market losses, but also, ensuring an increase in their dwindling revenue stream.. the major problem is, donations are voluntary (with no future guarantees) whereas pledges are compulsory - in the heart and mind of the giver!.
however, far too many will probably forget/refuse to keep up their monthly tax - with no way of knowing who is 'paying the man', and who is not.

And those who don't honor their pledge are not being faithful and obedient to Jehovah so they can no longer have any "priveledges" : can't be on the school, give prayers, Ap or RP, go to Bethel, be a MS or elder, etc.
Any Bethelites, elders or MS who don't keep their pledges will be removed.
If THIS does not work, "unfaithful ones", IE ones who don't keep their pledge, will be disfellowshipped. As for any who did not make the pledge, they will be disfellowshipped!
I did not get invited.
Even my jw brother did not send me an invite and the sister who had been bringing me the mags has not been by since January.
one thing i have learned over the years is there is a clear, distinct purpose to everything the wts does.
everything is done to accomplish a defined purpose.. did they really print millions of new bibles just to be more accurate?
after decades of toughting how much better the nwt was than any other bible?.
NeverKnew- I'd guess most witnesses thought this new Bible was worth more and contributed more than they normally would have.

donuthole has a good point. This gb were not a part of the NWT. They want their OWN bible and now they have it.
i was thinking today about how i no longer have to fear the attack of satan against the jws.
i used to fear being rounded up and beaten by mobs.

if a witness tells you that jesus commanded you to go to the memorial, how would you respond?.

this morning as my husband and i were backing out of our garage to head out to the farmers market a jw was walking up our walkway with his invitation.
he didn't see us and we didn't rocongnize him but a brother and sister we knew well actually looked our way.
we decided not to bother and went our way to enjoy a lovely morning picking out fresh fruit and vegetables knowing when we got home the invitation would be stuffed in our door.
I did not get an invitation either. I don't get invites to the conventions either and a sister who had been bringing me the magazines and literature has not brought anything by since January.

i was invited by my parents, and even though i have nothing but contempt for this religion, things have been good in our relationship so i was considering going just to appease them.

I have not been invited, but would not go anyway.
so, the new arrangement is to get all the cong to count every tract and memorial invite and dc invite placed etc!.

how controlling and completely stupid!...i mean what is the reasoning behind counting a slip left in soemones letterbox???
They might want to brag about how many were placed but it might also be to acertain how many tracts should be printed and sent in the future. I'm sure they want to cut costs and will reduce the amount they print and send to the congs if there is too big a varience between amount shipped and amount reported as placed.
