the current fading of brand name "the watchtower" & the rise, rise, rise of jw.org.
the watchtower as brand name is in the process of being imperceptibly faded from visibility in the organization.
who'd have thought you could make a watchtower fade and disappear?
I noticed at the end of the new dvd "These Words must be on your Heart" that the Watchtower icon/logo has been replaced by jw.org symbol.
There was a very small wt icon shown onthe top floor of one of the new Warwick bldgs in the ilustration, very small. I wonder if they will still have it when the complex is built?
How long before The Watchtower becomes jw.org magazine?

i continue to be stunned by posters reporting on the convention, lamenting the convention, complaining about going in serve-us and meetings, and yet continuing to participate in these activities.. a simple question.
how long have you done these things, fully knowing it is absolute bullshit?.
i couldn't handle it for more than six months before i basically outed myself.
I gave up going to the meetings before knowing the tatt.
I just knew about the un/ngo thing.
I stopped going because I was mad at Jehovah over my dear wonderful Mom's painful death and I had no friends there.
I found out the truth about the truth AFTER I stopped going.
two copies of this invitation were pinned to the corkboard at the post office this morning: a world government, why do we need one, is it possible, who is qualified to rule?.
i know this invitation hand-out has been discussed but i missed this part - that wt obviously is saying they are qualified to rule the world.
i can't take it.
The answer to the question given at the public talk is of course, Jesus.
this year there were only two conventions in texas.
an international convention at at&t (cowboy) stadium in arlington, and a regional convention in houston.
projections for the arlington convention ranged from 60-85k, with attendees coming from ok, ar and la, no to mention the international delegates; however, the peak attendance on sunday was 50,000..

- at the Rutherford , NJ Convention it was mentioned that baptisms that = .5% of the attendence is good. But I remember when they said 1 % was good-does anyone remember that?
447 were baptized at Metlife , about .78% of Saturday's attendence.
I think if I heard it right, the total baptized at the conventions up to June 15 was 140,257.
i attended the regional convention (district convention) over the last weekend, and thought i would spend a few minutes putting down some thoughts, for your amusement.
i will bounce around a bit, as my notes and thoughts were a little craaaaazy.. we met at one of the smaller venues on the west coast, with attendance around 7,000.
(28 baptized.... <.04%) we were tied in to the international convention in arlington, tx.. my first thought, only about 2 hours in, was how much this sounded like a plain old sales meeting!
The new book DOES mention the " Millions Now Living Will Never Die" talk.
i was wondering if anyone is aware of any recordings of the convention as of yet?
i know its relatively early, so i may just have to wait.
just curious if anyone had a copy yet.. thanks!.
Thank you Sir82!
I listened to several talks and a brother who studied with me gave the public talk Sunday morning!
This was the first time I heard a talk by him in many years!
David Spane gave a good talk at the end of Sunday's session.
I think they should do this for all the conventions & assemblies and put it on jw.org afterwards too for those who could not go to a convention.
hey everyone,.
thanks qcf and nugget for starting threads.
thanks cofty for wondering where i was.
Glad you are out of the hospital Kate!
Enjoy your vacation and take care
it really is pretty sad that the gb and their "fair-haired-boys" cannot get their stories straight even from one day to the next.. friday, while touting the greatness of jw.org the rc speaker bragged about the web site being translated into over 400 languages.
on saturday splane bragged about it being translated in 369 languages.
while that is close to 400 it surely isn't over 400.. then yesterday one of the speakers said, "the mormon church is investing on internet web site outreach.
The most recent figure for translation is about 700 languages. ( See the 2014 tour brochure for the US.)
They present such information in a confusing way because it seems most jws don't understand the figures themselves. There have been descrepensies in describing the sq footage of the Wallkill printery with the w, g, km and the tour brochure giving different figures for it.
They are misleading in what they say is the printing for the w because they don't include the printing of the study edition in it.
In 2012, according to an article on jw.org, they printed more than 1.3 billion magazines or 108 million per month. Yet the 46 million copies of the public w and the 45 million of g come to around 91 million monthly, leaving over 17 million for the study editions which they never mention.
For the web site they mention material is in over 300 langs and you can download pubs that appear in over 400 languages. They are unclear in how they express it.
They don't get there facts straight.
