The 1/15/15 w has an article warning witnesses not to partake at the memorial if they are not really annointed. I know it is fake, but the society is trying to discourage people from partaking.
The 144,000 is not so literal anymore, is it?

When I believed in it, I figured Jehovah can create whatever is needed for his people in the new world, electricity, food, anything, he was bringing armageddon and could also provide for his people's needs in the new world.
Also, why would he destroy the bethel bldgs? I believed they would all be used in the new world. Building them now was also for the new world, armageddon was still close.
When I was a witness I really believed these things.
anybody going or who can give us the noolite hot from the gb a$$?.

I think that the national average of hrs, which used to be ten per month, has dropped off so sharply, that this basic pioneer arrangement is simply to get the pubs to put in 10 hrs monthly again, it is a special title for them,,, regular pios will still put in 70 and aux pios still 30 or 50.
But when they get millions as "Basic Pioneers" will they combine this with the other pios and claim a new all- time peak?

Thank you Absolam! Did they mention anything about a new peak of publishers?
from barbara anderson, former watchtower headquarters researcher and writer, on another recent thread:.
it is expected that at the 2014 annual meeting, usually held the first saturday in october, will serve watchtower leaders well to cover-up all the 100-years of prophetic nonsense.
rumor has it they are going to celebrate their 100-years of announcing the kingdom in an adroit way by featuring a move of "great" significance to do with the expansion of the governing body to an "apostolic" 12 or some other fantasy idea.. .
St George- its funny you mention Mark. That is exactly what I thought when they introduced him as a helper to the gb.
But Mark was not annointed when he studied with me, if he is now, ( its academic anyway, the teachings are fake), then the 144,000 is not literal.

I wonder if the brother who studied with me, who was one of the speakers at the convention and was introduced as a helper to the gb will be appointed as a member of the gb? But he was not one of Jesus' brothers back then and the gb must be.
Of course, he could claim that he was annointed more recently. They can say whatever they want. I thought about that when he was introduced as a helper to the gb.
If so, Jehovah changed his mind and annointed him? The 144,000 just keeps on growing!
Just my guess anyway based on what Londo111 suggested.
objectivetruth-
Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah. Peter could not continue in Judaism and yet at the same time believe Jesus is the Messiah.
For one thing, the Jewish Messiah has two human parents, and does not become a sacrifice to cover other's sins as the Jewish religion teaches no-one else can die for your sins.
Judaism also teaches that God does not want or accept human sacrifice.
The Jewish Messiah will not be a redeemer for people's sins.
But Jesus said he was there to die for his followers sins and would be sacrificed. A follower of Judaism would not have accepted Jesus as Messiah.
I am Jewish by birth as are all of my blood relatives. But while I was a witness, therefore a' Christian" my relatives did not consider me to be "Jewish" because I was a "Christian"!
Peter could not have accepted and believed that Jesus would die for his (and other's sins) if he really believed in Judaism.
Also, the Jewish Messiah is not "the son of God". But Jesus taught that he was. Peter beleived that.
