if you were even born into a religion, would you feel that you had to get out?
( the only religion that i know of where people get out and often never go to any other religion is the jw religion)..
I doubt I could be happy in any religion.
I left the Jewish religion when I was 13. Had no religion until I began studying with the jws 5 years later. After realizing I've been lied to by religion all my life i I find that none appeal to me.
I would not belong to any.

It's amazing that they have not updated the Reasoning book. So which is the TRUTH? The truth in the Reasoning book or the truth in the new overlapping generation teaching? Are they BOTH the truth?!!!!
I guess they don't plan to update the Proclaimers book. Doing the DVD series is less expensive.
How great it would be to have the witnesses meet someone at the door who has the WT on the new generation teaching and has the witness explain it to them using the info in the Reasoning book!

We know Adam was not decieved. He knew he would die if he ate the fruit from that tree.
You say he thought he would be able to bring himself back to life. On what basis would he think this? He knew Eve was lied to.
What did he know about the Devil?
He told Eve the warning God gave him, so he believed it. By why would he think he could bring himself back to life ? He knew what Eve was told by the serpent was all lies.

Designs- I was born and raised Jewish before become a witness and my family are all Jewish ( except for 1 JW brother and his wife). I am so amazed at how pagan Jewish beleifs and teachings are. I have no interest in Jewish religious ideas at all.

does anyone have any info on this?.

Unfortunatly i do not know anyone at the German branch . I live in the USA- don't know how to find any records that provide that info.
The WT has never published it for some strange reason. Years ago I wrote to the German branch for info but recieved no reply. The US branch would not answer my questions either. Strange, and frustrating!

Adam knew that if he ate that fruit he would die. Did'nt he realize that if he did so all of his offspring would die too? Is it that he just did'nt care or he was not thinking that far ahead? Also, after living for so long in paradise was he just so willing to give up his life for the freedom to eat the fruit that was forbidden?

No, I did not mean that Adam and Jesus had the same mission. Just that both men were perfect and Adam had an easy life in Eden but did not stay faithful to Jehovah (or loyal to him) where as Jesus had the exact opposite type of situation to live through and did remain loyal and faithful to Jehovah.
Did Jesus "clean up Adam's mess?' I don't know. If what wt teaches ever becomes real then yes!
Was it fair of Jehovah to put such a severe penalty on Adam? I don't think so.
It certainly was not fair to punish his offspring- all of us, with suffering, sin and death because those two chose to disobey and eat some fruit.

The Jewish take? All of my family (except for one jw brother and sister in law) are Jewish. They believe Adam and Eve are nothing more then a fable and there is no original sin.
