I would imagine that Pastor Russell would say what all Jehovah's Witnesses would say today, that the Bible is the truth, that their religion is in fact Bible based and that the Bible is the authority for their doctrine.

However Bible-based actually means nothing significant and the claim that it is the authority for their doctrine is demonstrably false. In reality very doctrine which is unique to Jehovah's Witnesses is extra-biblical; established solely by eisegesis sprinkled with theories and speculations that are beyond what is written.

Precisely because the Bible (Catholic or Protestant version) is not their authority.... as the questions are designed to bring out.

Here are some questions to ask visiting JWs to help them realize their faith is not in the Bible, but in men.

QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW YOU VIEW THE BIBLE.

1. Do you view the Bible as the inspired word of God? (II Tim.3:16)

2. Do you believe the Bible is written for everyone? (to read and study)

3. Do you believe that someone who only has the Bible can read it and be saved?

4. Do you believe your religion is clearly found in the Bible?

5. Could someone studying the Bible alone come up with exactly what you believe?

6. What role does the Bible play in determining your religious beliefs?

7. Do you believe that your faith is primarily in the Bible or is it in your religious leaders and their interpretations of the Bible?

8. Could there be a discrepancy between what your religion teaches and what the Bible teaches? Has there ever been?

9. If you discovered a discrepancy between what the Bible says and what your religion teaches, which one would you believe?

10. Would doctrinal modifications made by your religious leaders always act as a corrective to change what you believe the Bible teaches?

11. Could the Bible ever act as a corrective to change your beliefs contrary to what your religion teaches?

12. If a person puts his complete trust in a Bible scholar, with an “if he says it, I believe it” attitude, would his primary faith be in the Bible or the scholar?

13. Do you believe that your religious leaders alone have the right and ability to to interpret the Bible for true believers?

14. Where do your leaders get new information as to what the Bible teaches? (Bible itself? Angelic guidance? heavenly saints? Holy Spirit's leading?)

15. How do your leaders decide on which doctrinal changes to adopt? Do they sometimes vote changes in?

the jehovah’s witnesses have issues with modern medical information because this is seen as against the tenets of the religious faith.

Apparently plasma is considered one of the four main components of blood which divine law prohibits..... despite the fact that every element of plasma, including water, albumin proteins etc. are on the Watchtower acceptable list.

Make sense of that.

False prophets with other religions

i remember when i was young an article we studied that stated something to the effect that, religions or other people have at times set dates or tried to set dates using chronology but that those were deemed false prophets.... can anyone point me to any or multiple articles or quotes that can help me in my fight with my parents?

i'm battling the 1914 generation change at the moment.

i remember when i was young an article we studied that stated something to the effect that, religions or other people have at times set dates or tried to set dates using chronology but that those were deemed false prophets.... can anyone point me to any or multiple articles or quotes that can help me in my fight with my parents?

Watchtower August 2020 Are they introducing new light?

the latest watchtower is now out and they make this statement -.

7 during the thousand year rule of christ, all of jehovah’s earthly children will have to make changes to please him.

so all of them will have true fellow feeling as they help the resurrected ones to combat sinful tendencies and to live by jehovah’s standards.

Lingering doubts and internal debates

hello, i am in the beginning stages of a slow fade.

over the years i have become more and more dissatisfied with the beliefs, teachings, and organizational practices of the organization.

i no longer have faith in it.

Glad you have joined us Huxley!

The Watchtower historically has readily depended on newspaper exegesis coupled with eisegesis to determine Jehovah's eschatological agenda. Don't give the virus a second look as being part of an alleged "composite sign".

The organization has never had a clue about how to interpret Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Further Jehovah tells us not to fear the words of those who make false predictions.

Jesus was giving his disciples a heads up as to when exactly to flee Jerusalem and Judaea and to.pray their flight would not be in winter or on a Sabbath (escape restrictions).

As for "that day", it will take place in normal times, people eating, drinking, marrying and working at jobs etc. No need to flee anywhere, saints will be taken. It will not be a local event, I.e., Jerusalem and Judaea but it will come as a snare on the entire earth, at a time that cannot be anticipated by newspaper exegesis or calculations of men. To be ready for that day will not depend on ones relationship with an organization, but with Jesus Christ himself.

I am beginning to think it's because of this young man's ongoing, detailed, honest frustrated ramblings about what it's like to be a Jehovah's Witness. No way is he going to let Watchtower religion steal any more of his life.

This video would serve as great tool to disillusion would-be recruits to the organization.
