Are you a JW also? If you are not, you're smart, not stupid for initiating the break-up.

Interviews like this on the news help to inoculate the public against the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses avoid examining their own religion? An interesting read from Scientific American Magazine.
by Balaamsass2 infor a long time, i thought pimi (physically in, mentally in) jws were unique in their inability to simply type and read the latest "google" news results about "jehovah's witnesses " or "watchtower".
however, it appears it is not uncommon for a large portion of the population purposefully to avoid facts...on purpose!
"why do people avoid facts that could help them?.

Here is one!
"We need to examine, not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with which we may be associated. Are its teachings in full harmony with God’s Word, or are they based on the traditions of men? If we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examination."

John 5:28,29.
by Lost in the fog inwe used to use this scripture to show that there was going to be a future resurrection.
but recently i got to thinking about it.
if the apostle paul was right in saying that the righteous on death would be changed in the twinkling of an eye from earthly life to heavenly glory why would there be a future resurrection needed for the righteous?

According to the Watchtower the first resurrection began in the spring of 1918 and continues as each anointed one today is raised immediately to heavenly life at death to join those already in heaven.
The resurrection of the earthly class however is future, and will take place gradually subsequent to Armageddon.

28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.Well trying to make sense of nonsense is difficult unless "the hour" becomes 100 plus years. JWs believe that the apostles and faithful dead went to heaven in 1918 i.e., the first resurrection began in 1918. That resurrection will be complete within the lifespan of a single overlapping generation.
