  Where does the Bible outlaw Blood Transfusions? (Acts 15:29 Gen.9:4)

  (Orthodox Jews aren't bothered by transfusions) (If your Doctor told you to abstain from meat would he think you disobeyed him if you had an organ transplant? Isn't that what a transfusion is?)

  Could it be that the dietary laws in Acts 15 were temporary, designed to help unify Jews and Gentiles. If so, your organization has had blood on its hands since 1945 and even before with it's outlawing of vaccinations and later organ transplants.

  a. Which components of blood are acceptable and which ones are not? What is the scriptural basis for this distinction? (red cells, white cells, platelets, plasma banned)

  b. Why plasma? Why is plasma (55% of blood volume) unacceptable when all of its elements are on the WTS acceptable list? Plasma is made up of 92 % water, albumin and fibrinogen proteins. What's the problem?

  c. Why white blood cells? Why are white blood cells banned when 97 percent of the white cells are not found in the blood stream but in organ tissues that are permitted by the WTS to transplant? Of course millions are transferred with every transplant. By the way,12 times more white blood cells are found in a mother's milk than in the blood. Millions are passed from mother to child at every feeding. Seems Jehovah doesn't abide by the same rules JWs do.

  
  d. Why is it sinful to store whole blood? Where is the biblical exception that allows JWs to have their blood stored in tubes for lab technicians to test? By the way, only blood of animals that were slain by Jews under the law was to be poured out. No one was slain/killed to acquire the blood stored in blood banks. (Lev.17:13)

  e. Why is it alright to use the life-saving fractions (eg. Factors VIII and IX) derived from the donated and stored blood of others when these products were stored immorally? And aren't hemophiliac Witnesses leeches when they take these blood products without contributing to the blood bank themselves?

  f. Where is the rule found that it is OK to remove blood from the body to be cleaned..as long as there is no interruption in it's flow back to the body?

  g. Why did it take JWs over 70 years to find these rules out when they are so obvious to JWs now. And didn't Jesus appoint the F&DS in 1919 when JWs were still being encouraged to work for the Red Cross as alternative service and give and receive transfusions when necessary?

  Now regarding the actual eating of blood:

  h. Can anything that goes into the mouth of a Christian defile him? Ro.14:14, Mk 7:15

  i. Assuming that there is no one around with a weak conscience, should Christians ask questions of conscience about meat served in the home of a pagan idol worshiper who is known to eat things strangled? I Cor.10:27

  j. Why do you think Jews could eat animals found dead in their fields (unbled) with relative impunity. They would merely have to wash their clothes and be unclean until evening.

  Leviticus 11:38,39 - "If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches its carcass will be unclean till evening. Anyone who eats some of its carcass must wash their clothes, and they will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash their clothes, and they will be unclean till evening." Also Leviticus17:14,15

  we were told we were part of the world if we got involved in politics.

  if we had employment that had political involvement we were instructed to get another job.

  we were told we might be considered disassociated if we voted and then it became questionable.

  The understanding of the “Superior Authorities” of Romans 13:1 is a teaching where Watchtower doctrine has see-sawed back and forth in clear violation of the principle of the light getting brighter.

  Romans 13:1-2 is simple to understand, describing the Christian obligation to follow the laws of the country. This is how it is interpreted by most Christian religions and how Russell explained the Scripture.

  i know there are a lot of 'wise heads' out there on this forum - so i would appreciate your suggestions.. several years ago, i studied with a guy, whose wife is a jw.

  (he had studied with several elders before i came along).

  • The first resurrection to heavenly life began in 1878

  • The great Tribulation leading to Armageddon had commenced in 1914

  • Millions living in 1919 would never die because 1925 would usher in the new system.

  • Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would be resurrected in 1925 and would stay at Beth Sarim with Judge Rutherford when visiting America.

  Hi R&R,

  With regard to the eschatological (second coming) parables such as those found in Matthew 24 and 25, there is a pattern of preparation or readiness for this grand event. The one who is ready for his master's return is the wise servant who feeds his brothers, the virgin who has sufficient oil (symbol of Spirit) in her lamp; the servant who invests the talents he is given by his Lord, and the servant who visits those in prison and clothes the naked. These all picture those who are ready for the master to return. So it seems to me these parables are meant to be prophetic of real events that are to occur with the return of Christ at the end of history.

  I see Matthew 24:1-35 as being fulfilled in the first century with the destruction of Jerusalem, whereas verse 36 on appears to be dealing with the parousia or second coming of Christ to judge all nations.

  NO, NOT THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN, BUT MY FATHER
  ONLY.

  I believe that this verse and "THAT DAY" signal a change in topic
  to the second coming (parousia) of Christ. Mt.7: 20-22

  Jesus has already explained what would happen to His own
  generation. Now He contrasts that which would relate to His
  second coming (parousia) or presence on earth. Notice the
  contrasts:

  Right now your wife is outnumbered by unbelievers. She is living in fear and probably blaming you and the children for trying to undermining her beliefs and causing her grief. Why not strike a deal with her: You will support her, never criticize the organization or try to hurt her faith for the next two months in exchange for a time of just getting along. If willing, get the kids on the kindness and respect track with you. Re-evaluate in 60 days.

  Anyone here take any chance you get to tell others how dangers the cult is?

  i know i have made some uncomfortable at times and others have thanked me for telling them about the cult because some family member is one and they thought it was a bad cult but did not know details.

  personally i take every chance i get to tell others about the cult.

  Seems to me that most of Jesus' parables have some sort of historical or literal application. For example, the vineyard parables apply to Israel and Jerusalem's impending destruction for rejecting their Messiah, while the kingdom of heaven parables relate to the development of the church right up to the harvest; while the eschatological parables point to the return of Christ and the judgment of the world. There are other stories that appear to be parables but are really parodies designed to undermine Pharisaic authority.
