JW Broadcasting reeks of desperation
by oldskool inagain, i'm a decade removed from the faith.
i'm catching up now, and can't believe what i'm seeing.. i get that jw leadership faced a dilemma.
there is no intellectual apparatus within the faith.

Can you be a JW who does not have the GB as their leader?
by DoubtingThomas ini am.. they are just fellow brothers, old and getting senile.... but enlightened, despite all the whining.....

DT - Everything hinges on whether or not certain Bible Students in Brooklyn New York were examined and then appointed in 1919 to be the Faithful Slave...and that their mandate was passed on to all subsequent Watchtower leaders.
If they were you should stick with their teachings. If not, you are free to study the Bible for yourself asking God to guide your understanding.
My advice, based on their history, is to assume they are not and let the word of God determine what you believe.

DT -There is no such thing as two-tier Christianity in scripture. The 144,000 and the great multitude are the same group being described in two different settings (earthly violence vs heavenly blis) and time periods (pre-vs post parousia). The gospel that 8 million Jehovah's Witnesses embrace is non-salvific and provides no assurance because ii's criteria is works-righteousness involving loyalty and submission to 8 popes in Warwick. Jesus cannot save you without these men.
Ding - Excellent analysis:
"There are other groups that don't believe in the Trinity or Hell. The distinctive of Jehovah's Witnesses is loyalty to the organization and the teaching that the GB is Jehovah's appointed faithful and discreet slave who must be obeyed without question."

Thomas - The fact is that that the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses is not biblical. By that I mean that every doctrine that is unique and original to Watchtower religion is extra-biblical.

David Splane...''Put Up a Hard Fight for the Faith''
by RULES & REGULATIONS indavid splane comes out firing and is relentless as to the reasons why christianity was brought down.
christianity was not broken down by persecution, but by false brothers and apostate teachings.
today, jehovah's witnesses face the same danger from false brothers and apostates.

Reminds me of the clairvoyant who put an add in the paper regarding her services. A respondent offered her a great sum of money and at the end under the heading of address wrote. "Oh I'm sure you know"

The smallest man in the Bible was not Kneehigh-Amiah; it was the Philippian jailor because he slept on his watch.
How do we know that Adam and Eve played baseball. Because the Bible says they were there in the big inning.
