Is this mere "fellow creature" of yours entitled to the same honor as Jehovah?
How do you give him equal honor to the Father?
Do you know this fellow creature you call Jesus?
Do you have a relationship with this fellow creature?
Can you describe your relationship with him?

Here is my understanding as I see scripture.
Eternal life according to John is knowing (ginosko) both Father and Son. Jesus says that no one knows the Father but the Son and to whoever the Son will reveal Him . I am the Way the Truth and the Life...no one comes to the Father except through me. There are no exceptions.
The Holy Spirit glorifies and reveals the Son, the Son the Father unselfishly blessing the other.... and the world, calling men to repentance and faith.
It is not a competition. But the problem with Jehovah's Witnesses is that they have reduced the Son to a creature. They do not glorify the Son nor do they honor Him as they think they do the Father. They do not call on Him as all NT Christians did, they do not come to Him and fellowship with Him or share their burdens with Him as He asks. They have no relationship with Jesus other than to tack His unglorious name onto their prayers. They cannot even say, "Thank you Jesus for dying for me!" Oh yes they say, I have a relationship with Jesus... and yet they have never communicated or directed one syllable His way.
They must be born again, by receiving the Spirit of Christ or they will remain in darkness without seeing or entering God's kingdom.
It's Jesus ... or no Jehovah. That's the way God planned it. You don't get to Jesus through Jehovah. It's the other way round.

Whose name was to be "publicly declared" by Christians?
The Bible tells Christians to witness to Christ - not to Jehovah. Christians were never instructed to do anything in Jehovah's name.
(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses of me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the most distant part of the earth.”
(Matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness....
(Mark 13:9) ...be put on the stand......for my sake, for a witness to them.
(Luke 24:48) You are to be witnesses of these things.
(Acts 1:8) ..witnesses of me in Jerusalem,.....the most distant part of the earth.”

(1 Corinthians 1:6) ...the witness about the Christ has been made firm among you,
(1 Timothy 2:6, 7) ...this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time.
(2 Timothy 1:8) ....the witness about our Lord.......
(1 John 5:9) ....this is the witness God gives, the witness.....about his Son.
(Revelation 1:9) ......bearing witness concerning Jesus.
(Revelation 12:17) ....have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.
(Revelation 17:6) ......and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.
(Revelation 19:10) ....witnessing concerning Jesus...the witness concerning Jesus...”
(Revelation 20:4) ...for the witness they gave about Jesus......
Christians were to witness for Christ. There is not one single verse which commands Christians to witness for Jehovah. Jesus was assigned to be God's witness:
(Revelation 1:5) "....Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness,”
(Revelation 3:14) "....the faithful and true witness.."
We are assigned to be Jesus' witnesses

the other day, i chatted to an elderly woman and her daughter who was about 45-50. total strangers.. we were discussing covid when the daughter said, "my neighbor studies with jw's, and the jw's told her 3 months before the virus started, that they had to stop going from door to door because something was coming.".

Joseph Rutherford initially stated that the 144,000 group was complete i.e., sealed back in 1931:

"Although Jehovah had come to his temple in 1918 and had begun judgment of this anointed class, still others must be brought in, because some were found unworthy and they must be replaced. The evidences show that this continued until especially 1931, when there began a work of gathering those recognized as "other sheep" of the Lord Jesus Christ." Then it was changed with no basis to 1935:
"Hence, especially after 1966 it was believed that the heavenly call ceased in 1935." Watchtower 2007 May 1 p.30

Then, in 2007 it was changed again,
"As time has gone by, some Christians baptized after 1935 have had witness borne to them that they have the heavenly hope. Thus we cannot set a specific date for when the heavenly hope ends." Watchtower 2007 May 1 p.31″
However, they also cast doubt on anyone who now says they are “anointed”:
"Over the years some, even ones newly baptized, have suddenly begun to partake. In a number of cases, after a while they acknowledged that this was an error. Some have recognized that they partook as an emotional response to perhaps physical or mental strain. But they came to see that they really were not called to heavenly life.
