They know all right... most of them actually discover "the truth" when they get to a certain level... that's when a strange jewish guy walks over to them, taps them on the shoulder and says: "Don't look at me just keep looking forward and do as you're told."

Are we losing members quicker than the WT ??
by wobble inreading a thread from just a few months ago, made me realise that a lot of people who used to be regular contributors here no longer do so.. i know that people have always moved on, as the anger and hurt get less, as the wt mind-set totally disappears, we feel the need to come here less and less, but because of the intelligence, insight, wit and wisdom of these people, the board is somewhat impoverished each time one of these moves on.. this is a plea to all who post now, and some who still read but don't post, please do not leave us entirely, the contributions on here are literally life-saving for many.
it is easy to get dangerously suicidal when the whole wt pack of cards falls down for you.. please do not become a stranger to us !.

Basically, the WT has caught on to this new "satanic" tool called the internet and have become increasingly guarded with their indiscretions. So once you've covered their false predictions, ridiculous doctrines, flawed chronology, contribution scandals, etc., the conversation runs dry while the Society learns new "damage control" techniques. Eventually, as Jookbeard pointed out, people just get bored and move on...

Good question... I guess you could say that this is "tribal knowledge" that has been passed down from one generation of annointed ones to a 2nd "overlapping" generation (GB2.0)... So the current GB knows exactly what they're doing and what results they can expect when they employe these tactics... they just don't call it "mind control"... they prefer to use terms like "theocratic order" or "loving guidance" or some other BS term to justify their actions and their existence.

assemblies; how times have changed
by Evidently Apostate inmy wife mentioned our circuit assembly was this weekend, she looked at me and i let out a chuckle and said "the kids are too sick right?
" (they weren't) but it was what she wanted to hear, an excuse from me to blow it off.
it got us thinking about how they were kind of tolerable when we were younger.. meals with ice cream, lots of volunteering to get you out of your seat.. there was more room at past assemblies.

In a District Assembly back in the mid-80s, I was working the hamburger conveyor (placing the meat patty inside the bun). I had a good rhythm going when, all of the sudden, the round side (top of the bun) stopped coming down the belt and the brother on the other couldn't hear me over all the noise... But being the resourceful guy that I am, I regained my composure and simply doubled up on the flat side of the bun. About 50 hamburgers later, the elder in charge of the food service walked over to my conveyor and jumped all over me for using "common sense" rather than following the official "theocratic instructions" on hamburger preparation lovingly provided of the Society. I thought: "wow, how ridiculous... millions of kids are dying of hunger in Africa every year and this elder is irritated over how I put together 50 hamburgers". I was going to explain myself after the elder got done scolding me but I realized it really wasn't worth it... I simply abandoned my post and walked out.

Local JW's a little slack in their preaching efforts?
by cognizant dissident inso, i'm sitting at my desk one morning, about a week ago.
the desk is right beside my sliding glass door in my new ground floor suite.
the drapes are wide open and i'm sitting in full view of anyone coming up the driveway.

I pass them on the road every other month... usually a group of about 8 or so (in pairs of course)... they seem to be walking slower and slower every time... like they really don't want to be there (you think?)

What's going on at 100 Henry Street?
by Alfred inid like to first clarify that i am not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination.
however, i couldnt resist connecting the dots on some research ive been doing recently about watchtower spin-off corporations.
one such corporation that caught my attention is located just a few blocks away from the wtbts headquarters in brooklyn, quite possibly in a back room at the st george hotel on 100 henry street.

I don't think they'll be a world war anytime soon and I don't think JWs will be the only survivors... I think it's plainly obvious that this is merely an exaggerated question intended to spark curiousity...
