Last year someone posted the outline for the post-Memorial "special talk"... I believe the title was "Peace and Security... When?"... maybe this year's special talk will be something similar... who knows?

"Trust the Faithful and Discreet Slave" Transcript [2010/2011 Kingdom Ministry School]
by pirata intranscript for the talk "trust the faithful and discreet slave" talk given at the kingdom ministry schools:.
trust the faithful and discreet slave.
have we ever had to meet up with somebody with whom we've not seen before?

Pirata... thanks for putting this together and sharing.
I actually stopped reading when I finished this sentence (couldn't stomach it):
The product of holy spirit, the Bible itself has no personal ambition, it's purpose, it's theme, is God's kingdom and, of course it helps us to develop a relationship with God. So, the governing body being in heart-harmony with the Bible, it shows that these brothers have no personal ambition.
Now I've heard it all... So we need not worry about reading and interpreting scripture since the selfless GB is in "heart-harmony" with the Bible and will kindly do this for us...
It's interesting how Freddy Franz practically took the Bible away from JWs back in the late 60's (in an effort to re-tighten control) by writing arrogant statements such as this one found in the Watchtower (October 1, 1967):
"Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely thay may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind."
Every now and then, the WT will recycle statements such as this one from wacky Freddy when the numbers start declining (just to remind everyone that the Faithful and Discreet Slave is their only mediator)...

It is all about counting hours.
by Sour Grapes inthe april km in the "question box" ask "how long should we.
study with a progressive bible student?".
it says that there are "two publications that need to be completed.

It's clear that the WT has a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy when it comes to counting hours which is why JWs are given full permission to get "creative"... it's all about inflating the numbers to show increases every year...

Don't go... Just keep stalling... If they keep insisting on alternate dates, you'll know they're just trying to throw you head first into a star chamber hearing... (They're really just following their "Shepherding for Dummies" manual to show their CO that they're "company men")

The article doesn't mention the sign that was posted above the water faucets which reads: "ATTENTION WORLDLY PEOPLE: PLEASE WAIT UNTIL JEHOVAH WITNESSES HAVE BEEN SERVED BEFORE REQUESTING WATER. YOUR COOPERATION WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED... ARIGATO GOZAIMASU."

Assembly/Convention Accounting
by dontplaceliterature injust having had my circuit assembly recently, i felt that the expenses in a watchtower-owned building seemed extremely over-inflated.
over $9000 for two days.
there were approximately 750-800 in attendance each day.

The assembly hall I was referring to has been paid in full for over 10 years and it pays no taxes...

A few years ago, I asked a colleague of mine (who knows quite a bit about operating expenses in commercial establishments) if he could give me a rough estimate of what the operating expenses would be for a JW assembly hall which I described to him (seats about 1,200, 30 foot ceilings, type of HVAC system installed, no paid employees for repairs, etc.). He told me he'd have to check the building out himself just to be sure but that it should not run more than $1,250 per day (of use) explaining that this is mostly electrical with some water and some pre-established amout for depreciation and repairs. Ever since then I'd always calculate that a $1.50 donation per person would more than cover the hall's "operating expenses" (for a one-day assembly). Yet, when it came time to stand at attention to listen to the "financial report", we'd always have some ridiculous "deficit" in the thousands... they definitely cook the books at these circuit assemblies. (Not sure what the expenses might be at a rented Coliseum but I'm sure they pull stunts like charge for parking that's already included in the rental)...
