  What's the JW reaction to new 16 page mags????

  if you've been to the meeting when the letter was read, what was jw reaction????

  just curious if it was just another sign that the end is nearer or did any wake up for a second to realize the corporation is downsizing due to costs..

  State of Victoria has announced that they will investigate ALL religions... including the Watchtower

  a friend just showed me a message from steven unthank on facebook where he mentioned (about 4 hours ago) that the state of victoria will be launching an investigation into all religions, including the jehovah's witnesses... he also mentioned that he will likely testify.. i don't know anything else about this because the message was brief, but i assume it has something to do with the protection of pedophiles.... has anyone else heard this yet?.

  A friend just showed me a message from Steven Unthank on Facebook where he mentioned (about 4 hours ago) that the State of Victoria will be launching an investigation into ALL religions, including the Jehovah's Witnesses... he also mentioned that he will likely testify.

  I don't know anything else about this because the message was brief, but I assume it has something to do with the protection of pedophiles...

  Has anyone else heard this yet?

  Preaching in vain.

  on my way to work (my temp job) i drove past my witness uncle.

  there he was on the street preaching to a man.

  i knew that stance so well, publication in hand, leaning in towards to hopefully interested person and telling your story.

  Effective preaching of the "good news" requires two basic components:

  1. truthful information
  2. basic knowledge of the best methods to transmit the message to various cultures

  It's been thoroughly proven that the Watchtower does not preach an entirely true message. For example, they preach that salvation is by works and that Jesus has been reigning since 1914 (false and false).

  They also use a totally ineffective preaching method (door to door) and are only recently using the internet (after they've been avoiding this medium since it started exposing their lies)...

  By the way.... I suggest that you read old WT literature so you can see for yourself that the WT continuously lies about their history...

  Question #9 of this week's "oral review" of DVD "Faith In Action"...

  this week, the service meeting will have an oral review of the dvd faith in action which was distributed in the 2010 district assembly worldwide... as many of you probably know, the intent of this dvd is to present a "white-washed" version of the history of the watchtower by omitting all the scandals and cover-ups.... i no longer go to meetings, but i would have loved to raise my hand and answer question #9 which reads: "what did the bible students expect would happen in 1914?".

  my response would have been the following:.

  even though the geoffrey jackson admits that the bible students expected a "heavenly reward", the dvd avoids mentioning that russell categorically predicted armageddon would come in october of 1914. what's even worse is the fact that the narrator lied on two occasions by saying that the bible students expected or reasoned that jesus would take the throne in 1914. this is completely false.

What's even worse is the fact that the narrator LIED ON TWO OCCASIONS by saying that the Bible Students expected or reasoned that Jesus would take the throne in 1914. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. They DID NOT expect Jesus to take the throne in 1914 since Russell had already taught them that Jesus was already in power since 1874. In fact, it wasn't until 1929 (13 years after Russell's death) that Rutherford decided to move 1874 to 1914.

  No Babilonian king was alive between 539 BCE and 537 BCE... So the 70 years of SERVITUDE ran from 609 BCE to 539 BCE... END OF STORY...

  How's that for a few words???

  Jesus really meant TWO OVERLAPPING GENERATIONS (not one)... Also, Jesus forgot to mention that this applies only to "annointed brothers" in high bethel positions...

  Thank God we have the FDS to clarify this stuff... otherwise, we'd be completely lost.

  in he's nephews book i could not believe some of the things he mentions.

  when his father died fred franz told his mother he could not go to the funeral because he was just too busy at bethel.

  she spoke to rutherford who ordered him to go.

  Elder "predicts" how many jws are going to live

  parents went to a jw gathering to read the wt for this week.a jw said that only 5 people out of 125 in my congo will survive armageddon and then that elder said: "no,not 5 people,maybe 20".

  This reminds of when I was working the sound at the KH one night and the announcement was made that "brother Cigar Smoker is no longer a JW". An elder standing just a few feet from me whispered to another elder: "One down, two more to go" as if this was cause for celebration. This made me sick to my stomach... I don't know why, but that made me extremely angry for weeks.

  That being said, I rarely noticed any genuine love in any of the 4 congos I've been in. Any so-called "christian love" was really just birds of a feather (pio-sneers, ass-kissers, etc.) flocking together while practically ignoring the "weak" ones or considering them "bad association" or "dangerous" to the spiritual well-being of the congo...
