So this CO is basically saying that handing out literature in Field Circus is an excercise in futility but serves to boost morale in the R&F?
This is yet another typical example of JW oxymorons (meaning this CO is an Ox and a Moron)
ok so this was told to the entire congregation by the circuit overseer.
"the society knows the tract work brings hardly any new disciples in.
we get a few good experiences out of it and a few start studies and attend a few meetings.

this question is really for elders or ex-elders (or ministerial servants in the know).... did you find that some elders would tend to "white-wash" the true state of the congregation when they had their sit-down with the co every 6 months?.
did some elders feel pressure to hide certain things from a co for fear of being "removed" from the boe?.
(judging by the "fakeness" that some elders displayed during co visits, i have to wonder whether they were really worried about being removed for not seeking out inactives or encouraging more participation during the wt study, book study or fs...).
Anonymous... Diest is right... Also, I'm hoping Diest and I misread what you wrote... what you've brought to light here only serves to give the WT more credibility (whenever they trash so-called "apostates")... what gives?
my wife and i got a letter sent to me stating we are being called before a judical hearing to discuss allegations of apostasy!
we haven't gone to the meeting in 5 years.
are the jw's on a witchhunt lately?
I put up Christmas lights in my backyard (visible from the front of the house) in May of last year... they've been on every night ever since... my wife likes it and that's all that matters to me.
now the watchtower is so named for they keep on the watch right?.
for those of you still in, or that still see the mags, have they ever once even mentioned the "new world order", or one world government or even globalisation?.
ive been on a forum or two where the average joe, who doesnt even belive in, or are not even aware of god, the bible and revelation, are fully aware of the push towards globalisation and a single world government, where you wont be able to buy or sell unless you accept thier chip, of the f.e.m.a.
I know some old-timer JWs in Spanish congos that still use the phrase "Nuevo Orden Mundial" (New World Order)... they can't seem to get this old phrase out of their system for some reason... but they probably have no idea that this has roots in Freemasonry...

So far, that's eight (8) NO's and one (1) YES... very telling...
another post gives the stats that about 20 bethels have closed over the last 2 years.
lets assume that this continues at half the rate in another 10 years there will be few or a dozen bethels left.
if theres no bethel in spain, portugal, france, italy and they all go thru germany what chance does that give jws in those lands to ever get a chance at the big bethel in germany ?
I guess the CO's and DO's currently being "groomed" for the future Governing Body at the NEW Watchtower Headquarters (in Warwick, New York) are part of the THIRD OVERLAPPING GENERATION?
dear brothers and sisters.
are there any families in your home congregation doing it tough?
please consider carefully if your resources may be more needed locally than in brooklyn, new york.. .
awesome "light bulb" moment!!!
thanks for sharing!

Looking forward to your comments...
it's been nearly 5 years since the letter was read at the end of the service meeting.
the society would lovingly decrease the public talk to a brief 30 minutes, eliminating the 15-minute doom-and-gloom introduction and thereby resulting in lower heating and air-conditioning costs allowing for more "association" after the meeting.... for those who still go to meetings... do you find that there is any more association with the 30-min public talk when compared to the former 45-min public talk?.
please share your observations.. thanks!.
One time I was forced to stay behind (i think an elder wanted me to look at the back-up generator... can't remember)... anyways, I thought I was the only one who ran for the exit right after the closing prayer... turns out that everyone else did too, only they allowed about 3 to 5 minutes so it wouldn't look so obvious..
Thanks to everyone for sharing!
i received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.
note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.
the letter is authentic.
I'm sure the Society's "Geek Squad" has already figured out an easy way to identify the high-end and low-end contributors. High-end contributors ($1,000+ per year) with at least 10 hours per month in Field Circus will get "special" privileges like the sound booth at assemblies. Low-end contributors will simply get "marked" (regardless of Field Circus hours).
They have this sh*t figured out, don't they?
