I believe that religion takes away from your spirituality. I will never join another religion again. Our spirituality is between our creator and ourselves. Its not for a group of men to control.

DO WE NEED TO BELONG TO A RELIGION TO BE A "SPIRITUAL PERSON"?
by foodalls ini have been noticing people posting on this site have a "deep" spiritual desire, but don't quite know how to find it, or where it is at.. this beg the question...do we need to be involved with a "religion" to find "spirituality"...especially an "organized religion"???.
anyone that has there eyes open can see that all religion is loosing their influence over people around the world...i spent 47 years thinking i was in the "truth" being one of jw's!
and now that i am out...and looking back from the "outside"...all i see is that its just another religion...filled with all the "control-grid" stuff found in any other group.. worse yet...they are worse than other religions...so it begs an answer..is there such thing as a "true religion"???.

"Are you In the Truth?"
by Nickolas ini can't remember the last time i was asked that question because it has been many years.
nor do i remember my response to the questioner but it no doubt contributed to not being asked the question since.
are you in the truth?

No one is in the truth. No one knows the truth. And we will probably never know the truth! We can only believe we have the truth. But that does not make it the truth. That term "the truth" always hit a nerve with me. It is a term that jw's use that encourages the brainwashing aFfect to the mind.

Confessions of a Wayward Pioneer
by Giordano infrank was concerned that they might be dumping them in the woods or something so he wanted me to check it out.. i had a hard time convincing h and h to let me join them in service, finally i dropped a few hints that i was a pretty laid back brother who didn't always follow wtbts policy......... which wasn't far from the truth.
this guy was hard core.

Ignore them and if they come to your home or catch you off guard and you answer the call be very vague. that's what I did, I received a call from an elder last spring. He asked what could he do to get us back to the meeting. I ddnt answer his question at all I told him we were doing very well and appreciated his concern for us. And that's it!!! Do not allow yourself to be put in a position where they have any power over you.

Making the final break - stopping attending the Memorial
by Eiben Scrood ini started my fade in 2004 and completely quit regular attendance in 2005. i have, however, gone to all the memorials since.
i still consider myself christian and felt it was a somewhat decent way of respecting the sacrifice.. i am thinking of not going this year.. i am generally disgusted at what the memorial observation actually entails.
there is almost no talk about what jesus went through on that day or even the tremendous sacrifice involved and the love that motivated it.

I stopped attending meetings almost 2 years ago.. And I just ddnt see the point of going to the memorial since I stopped believing the teachings of the religion. My mother in law invited me to the memorial and to the 3 day comvention and I just flat out told her we were not going. No explaination no nothing. She said well we have to talk...I never entertained the thought of actually sitting down with her and explain why I have stopped. for what so u can judge mme then run to the elders to tattle tale smh Can someone please explain this new generation doctrine.....

I feel u on the need for them to make u look bad. I have rcvd many letters,cd and wt literature. They have called me a fake, alcohlic, working too hard individual. Everyone assumes that because I have not been at any meetings that we are not doing well that we have problems. I can't worry about what people say and think about me. Talk all you want! I have never been happier in my life!
