Jehovah Witness victims of Childhood Sex Abuse - and all supporters from the United States - Action Alert for 'Illinois legislature'.
by Sol Reform inil needs your help!
http://sol-reform.com/news/il-needs-your-help-please-email-members-in-support-of-elim-of-civil-and-criminal-sols/.
there has been some progress in the illinois legislature in passing legislation (civil and criminal) to eliminate the statute of limitations for sexually abusing children.. hb1063 is the criminal bill.. sb1399 is the civil bill.. it's been a long struggle and it's not over.

I live in Illinois and I read both the bills. I am at a loss to see the problem. One provides that the Statue of Limitations expire twenty years after the abused reaches 18. However, any period during that time in which the abused is coerced, intimidated, manipulated, etc by either the abuser or an agent of the abuser is not part of that twenty years. The other bill also puts the limit at twenty years from the date of the discovery of the injury, not the time of the abuse and not the knowledge of the abuse. I am a victim myself. Why do I need more than twenty years to decide to do something about it if I am now 38 years old and have not determined that there is any injury or damages to me? If I am diagnosed with PSTD for example, the twenty years starts at the time of the diagnoses. Explain please why this needs to be voted down?

Apostacitis
by Rufus T. Firefly inapostacitis is a term denoting a condition with which the watchtower society has become thoroughly infected, particularly since the year 1981 when sincere christians who merely resigned from the organization over principled differences in belief became viewed the same as unrepentant wrongdoers (1 cor.
5:11) and as those rejecting the good news about the christ (2 john 9-11).
there was a time when news of one becoming an apostate was so rare among witnesses that it sent shockwaves throughout the organization.

Are atheists afraid of archaeology?
by Xanthippe inlarsinger thinks we are.
i have to answer this because it makes my blood boil.
this is one of the key things that trapped me in a religion for the first 30 years of my life.. we were told the archaeologists have found ur of the chaldeans, babylon, nineveh and evidence for the existence of the hittites.therefore the other things in the bible must be true.. archaeologsts have also found troy in modern day turkey.

Could you live with not talking to your JW family for the rest of your life?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.

I guess I would have to. For the most part, it has already happened.
