Where did 607 come from?
by MrFreeze inokay so we've obviously established on this board that 607 is not the correct date that babylon destroyed jerusalem.
even before 1914 came around, the bible students still thought 1914 would be a pivital date.
the only way they can gain that info is from the 7 times or w/e.

Here's what I have so far...
by MrFreeze inokay so when i was talking with the brothers, somehow they got me to agree to come up with a list of jw teachings i don't agree with.
for some reason the po gave the number as "12".
don't ask me why he came to that conclusion.

Try to think of it as standing up for your integrity. You have the courage of your convictions and have had the strength to rely on yourself.
To be treated like this is an insult to your human dignity.
Did you see the twilight zone episode sometone posted here the other night?
As Ding told the poster, "We see you."

Is it wrong of me to think of the GB, the Writing Department, Bethelites, Pioneers, as moochers, and leeching bloodsuckers?
by miseryloveselders ini'm exhausted right now.
it's been a very long day.
both physically, and mentally, althought the latter otweighted the former by tons.

I don't think so for the most part. I think most of them believe in what they are doing and are making personal sacrifices in order to do it. Look at Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap, who had to leave Bethel as old men, without job skills, a pension, social security or medicare, no homes, cars etc. They were doing the best they could. They were wrong, misguided, but sincere. We had a CO leave last year to help a dying family member. He had been in the circuit work many years. Really, he has nothing to fall back on. I don't envy their positions.
You sound tired and mentally exhausted. Judging from your recent posts, I hope you can fit in some time for some much needed recreation. Or at least, a couple of beers...

It does? OMG, why hasn't anyone ever told me this before? This is unbelieveable. NO ONE HAS EVER MENTIONED THIS TO ME. EVER.!!!!!
I am so ticked. Do you have any idea how much time this info would have saved me? Why isn't this knowledge available when you open the box to your computer? I don't know how you all found this out, and I sure don't know why my grandkids have never shown me (maybe they don't know that I struggle with this) and I once took a three hour introduction to computers class at the community college to get started. THEY NEVER MENTIONED IT EITHER!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

participant awareness
by Nickolas ini've recently been involved in a thread in which one of the participants, member of this board since april last year and who has made over 1200 posts, had not been aware of the 1975 failure.
isn't that unusual?
it tells me that this board is inefficient at getting the message out.

I hadn't considered that point of view Outlaw, you make a good point. But what about simple navigational information?

Nicholas, I think I know what you mean. As a new poster, it was a little while before I figured out the whole "Best of Topics" thing. I couldn't figure out how to get or send a pm. Heck, I didn't know what pm meant. I had to ask what btt meant. I have just been schooled about the most effective way to use the "search" function. Of course, not everyone wants to research doctrine and history as much as others, but the information would be good to have for those who want to use it.
I tried as a newbie to read posts on the tech/forum threads, but without the information to begin with, I couldn't find the topic to begin with. Perhaps the first thing a newbie should know is how to use the "search" with the + sign. It would have saved me from bothering people with questions they must have answered a hundred times before. Sorry guys...........
