I love my Bosch front loader. I have never had any bad smells, but I have a big laundry room and the washer door is always open when it isn't in use. That may be why...

Greetings to All, No Longer Lurking

that's the simplest way for me to express how i feel in the wt org.

like many here, my eyes were slowly opened over the years as i did more earnest research, trying to reconcile some long standing spiritual quandaries.

I must admit that I find the subject of lurking interesting in itself. Apparently there are thousands of them. I lurked for about two or three weeks and then joined. Once you know it's not "the truth" why be out there without anyone to talk to?

I am sincerely interested, why did you lurk for two years without joining?

Oh, and also, there is a certain awareness that as a result of this lack of education and training, that when you go to elders for help and guidence with serious issues, they have neither the training or education to enable them to be effective counselors. Now, this might not be so bad if elders were really appointed by holy spirit and Jehovah was personally directing the advice and assistance, but as I am sure you are aware, this is sadly not the case. As a result, they frequently give some really messed up advice. Rape counseling, addictions, domestic abuse, child molesting...these are not really subjects that the average JW elder has a handle on.

Everyone's being a little flip. People here call them window washers as kind of a catchall term for the kinds of businesses than many JW men and families have. In my own congregation, which is pretty small, we have at least three families who employ other witnesses as well in their cleaning businesses. They are able to work at night and have the daytime free for service, and it doesn't take education. Some brothers wash windows, some have commercial accounts, some sisters clean houses for a living. I am very surprised that you don't have similar statistics in your area. I have been in 6 halls in my life as a witness, and this was true in all of them.

the first person i shared my doubts with about my faith,was my first "worldly" friend.

and he really takes being called worldly as a compliment.

but, he wrote me this evening and mentioned how he was happy to see that i was coming to terms with "losing my religion".

hi, i am grandma jones sister.

i have been a naughty girl lately.

i have missed an entire month of meetings and have no fs time for november or december.

Don't be too alarmed over her talking to her daughter. It's HIGHLY UNLIKELY she would shun her momma. HIGHLY UNLIKELY....

Our family is considered "independent minded" among the congregations. But not to worry, my sis will not put her relationship with her daughter in danger.

If she were not asleep already, she'd be reassuring you herself.

She'll be smooth as honey, and cautious as a serpent! She's wonderful with words and her heart is sooooo good, so generous. What daughter couldn't love her more than life itself? (but...as I said, she won't take it so far she can't back off)

I am so happy she's posted. You will love her. I do.
