  making known a firm decision to be known no longer as one of jehovah's witnesses.. if the individual is agreeable, the committee should first try to speak with him and provide spiritual assistance.

  It makes no difference to me. I always thought the Watchtower to be a little nuts on that point. It doesn't seem to me that you really get to choose.

  This is nothing but a classic case of child abuse. It enrages me to think of you sitting there with your parents allowing, no, sanctioning and approving such behavior on the part of dirty elders. How do they sleep at night, talking to a child that way? I wish I could ask my son, he is such a good man, does he do things like this too?

  this is about my being disfellowshipped , what led up to it, how i felt during it and what happened after.

  it has been over 25 years since i was disfellowshipped so this piece of the story has taken a long time to write.

  Oh Lady Lee, you are one courageous woman! It is a triumph of your nature that you came out of such trauma and went on to overcome all the obstacles women face in the job market, in school, etc. Then, to go on to lead and help others recovering from similar circumstances, or circumstances that cause other kinds of pain. Well. You are a treasure. I am glad you were willing to share your story. It will inspire others who feel that there is no where to go, and no one to turn to, that they too can overcome. That they will eventually find joy and satisfaction in life. There is a purpose in carrying on. Thank you. You are appreciated.

  i did not sleep well last night.

  I understood that your post was about the JC and not about your marriage. The marriage is a separate subject. I am glad you posted, and I find it very enlightening exactly how a JC works. I am also fascinated by your information and would very much appreciate it if you would point me in the right direction as to investigating the third heaven.

  Since everyone wants to talk about adultery, I will start a thread on that topic. I have my own thoughts on the matter that I'd like to share that have nothing really to do with your situation.

  this is disgusting!!!

  we've all heard that the new song book is really, really, really bad......but i didn't see many examples cited of just how they changed some of the wording.

  oh sure, we all know by now how incredibly hard it is to sing along with the garbage they wrote, tempo, lack of beat, odd rythm, timing, etc, etc.

  i am currently just sick with grief.

  i can't believe this is happening to me.

  all the jokes i've made about me never "falling out of the truth" and self confidence about my spirituality.

  This time on this board has made such a differnce for me. The information is revealing, the people are supportive, and the personal experiences are intensely moving. I am finding that I care so much for those here who are suffering with current trauma and drama, as well as those who are still dealing with the cruielty of the past. I am only sorry that I have been part of the ugly parts of this (now to me so obviously) perfectly crazy religion. Now when I hear my "brothers and sisters" talk, I am appalled at the self rightousness that I was a part of. I am quickly fading, and trying to bring out as many of those family members as possible. I have a good current excuse for not attending meetings due to personal health issues as well as a family emergency. I intend to suffer a major depression as a result. There will be no field service and little, if any, more meetings. We will see how it goes.

  I am feeling better. I did stop feeling such panic as at first, and started just being. It feels good. I plan to continue to research information here and elsewhere. Someday perhaps I will be able to help others as they are helping me.
