Speaking of Freeminds - they could use a little help
by Lady Lee inlike most webpages that provide support to us freeminds, a leader in providing information to ex-witnesses for years now, could use a little support.. i'm not asking for money (although i'm sure that randy, like simon, could always use some money to keep the site up).. write a review go to the http://www.freeminds.org/ website and scroll down.
on the bottom of the right hand column there is a green box that says review of free minds.
this group great nonprofits helps groups get government funding so they can continue the work they are doing.. if you have recieved help from free minds inc. please write a review for the website.

I hope this doesn't constitude hijacking a thread, because I only mean this post, and say these things in response to your fear of your current feelings and to reassure you and comfort you in your journey. Travel it without fear!
If you check your WT cd-rom and pull up the 2/15/09 issue, you will find the following quotes (and I urge you to read the entire article so you know I am not pulling this out of context)
As a group, the slave class has established an excellent record of “following the Lamb no matter where he goes.” (ReadRevelation14:4, 5.) Its members remain virgins in a spiritual sense by not defiling themselves with the beliefs and practices of “Babylon the Great,” the world empire of false religion. (Rev. 17:5)
No doctrinal falsehood is “found in their mouths,” and they remain “without blemish” from Satan’s world. (John 15:19) In the future, the remaining anointed ones on earth “will follow” the Lamb right into heaven.—John 13:36
the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave. Let us examine the evidence that both Jehovah God and Jesus Christ have complete confidence in the faithful and discreet slave
the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave. Let us examine the evidence that both Jehovah God and Jesus Christ have complete confidence in the faithful and discreet slave
The faithful slave is also discreet in that it neither acts immodestly, running ahead of Jehovah, nor lags behind when God’s direction on a matter is clear.
. The slave thus deserves our complete trust.
“My sheep listen to my voice,” said Jesus, “and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) That is true of the anointed Christians. What about those who “go with” them? Such ones must listen to Jesus. They must also listen to his brothers. After all, the chief responsibility for caring for the spiritual welfare of God’s people has been entrusted to them. What does listening to the voice of Christ’s brothers involve?
7 The faithful and discreet slave today is represented by the Governing Body, who take the lead and coordinate the Kingdom-preaching work throughout the earth. The members of the Governing Body are experienced, spirit-anointed elders.
Listening to the slave class means giving our full cooperation to its Governing Body.
Now back to my comments
Please compare the fact that the WT is describing our information from them as free of doctrinal error, and research our own publications over the past (and I will offer some recent examples as well)
We taught that Christ came in 1874 until well into the twenties.
We used the pyramids in computing our chronology, claiming it to be "God's stone momument" and not only saying that it points to the star in the constellation in the Pleiades where Jehovah resided on a particular star called Alcyone (sp?) but that the 1260 days computation was taken by computing the distance from the print factories (at a general distance of ten New York city blocks to the mile) all the way to Bethel.
Some of the early books in the Studies in the Scriptures contained the image of the Egyptian Sun God Ra on the cover, as well as the Cross on the Watchtower. (Which remained on our Watchtowers until the thirties)
We claimed that the ancient worthies (mentioned in Hebrews chapter 11) would return at the time of Armageddon in 1925. In spite of the fact they didn't show up, we built a house in San Diego for them to live in in 1929, which we didn't sell till 1947.
The Cedar Point, Ohio conventions were telling the brothers that the end would come in 1925 in the "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" talk, which was first delivered in 1918. This information is hailed in the "Revelation" book we studied a couple of years ago at the book study as fulfillment of the "seven trumpets" scriptures in the book of Revelations.
Check out the "Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose" book we published on our own history in which we praise the "Millions Campaign" , the Golden Age, and the Harp of God book lavishly. (pgs98,99) and while you are there, check out our statement on page 110 where we assert that true worship was restored in the period of 1919-1922.
You know, if you read all the things the slave has provided to us as doctrine to be believed, the claim that the pronouncements of the slave as "being free of doctrinal falsehood" is clearly a lie.
As far as to being afraid of being an apostate, the scriptures clearly show that apostates are resurrected. (And you will find for example, as still present truth, that Solomon and the wicked kings of Israel who led the nation into false religion will most probabably be resurrected. Consider looking up ALL the scriptures referring to Sheol in the Scriptures (easy by consulting your WT cd) and you will find many examples in the 65 uses of the word of the wicked as being resurrected, including those who fought against Jehovah's arrangement such as Absolom and David's trusted advisor.
These are just a few of the HUNDREDS of examples of "free of doctrinal falsehood" teachings we have propagated. You don't have to read any apostate literature to realize this isn't the "truth". Read our own literature. It will completely relieve your remaining doubts and your fears of apostacy.
I hope this helps you, and I am so this post is so long, but I wrote it as a response to your pain and fear, and I hope it will help allay the fears of the "lurkers" who are SURELY reading the postings in response to your apology.
You should be proud of yourself, and you are displaying great humility in your apology to the board. Again, welcome back.

It is so interesting to me to see what the trigger is. It's never the same. Sometimes sorta the same, but what drops the pin, what the straw is that breaks the camels back, is so interesting.

I am not out long enough to give you the good answer, but I want to tell you that it's good to have you here. I think that at this particular time it may be helpful especially to have someone who has been on both sides of the board. You're the first one I know. (Granted, not been here long) I am looking forward to hearing more.

An interesting talk with my father
by Soldier77 ina little background before my recap of my conversation.
my father left my mom and i when i was young, like before i was 5. so i didn't know him other than a couple images i had of him in my head.
i don't have any bad feelings towards him, even though he cheated on my mom and took 20 years to pay back child-support.

It's good you dad will have you, and good for you to have him in your life now. This is terrible how the organization breaks up families. Vent away.
